They might trade JJ at the deadline, but I just can't see them trading him now. They brought Stan in to build the culture, JJ is a bridge to Stan that will help smooth the transition from Uncle Al's free love to Stan's tough love.

Anyone know what the Pels want to do at the 5?

Want to do?
They want Jaxson Hayes to become Tyson Chandler with the ability to hit open 3's from the top of the key at a nice rate.
We have the MLE or uneven trade to address that position as well.

Poorly worded question...Jax obviously isn't ready...who is available and signable with the MLE?

I completely understand that. On the other side JJ wants to contend and if a package is there then I can see both parties going for it.

We may draft a Center. Some people are claiming we have the best odds for Harrell but I'm not sure what's there behind the scenes. I can see Robin Lopez or Aaron Baynes on a smaller contract. Whiteside would be great but he will most likely be way too expensive.

Meyers Leonard, who is a great teammate and guy to have in the locker room, and can stretch the floor.

Aaron Baynes and Tristan Thompson.

People hate to hear this, but with Favors’ bird rights, he’s probably the best option for the Pels on the market.

I would like to see the Pels target Baynes too. He showed at times last year with Ayton that he shoots well enough that he can share the floor with another big, so he’s versatile enough to play with Zion in the first unit or Hayes on the second unit. Also, we could limit his minutes to keep him healthy.

Robin Lopez is another option that can bring a vet presence, and it would make sense with the other new Bucks. If we can get Charles Lee on the staff Rolo seems like an obvious target

From a cohesion standpoint, with a coach not looking to force everyone to be some hyper pace induced snap decision-maker, I think Favors would look a lot better this year(and he wasn't bad last year, the way fans treat him reminds me of Lopez back in the day when no one seemed to recognize how good he was for us). That said, I still think we need to try and find a big that can space the floor.

For a number of reasons, one being so that when Zion is in there doing his thing he has more space, but when he is fighting for his put-backs and such his center can be getting in position to protect the transition and the paint. Two big men in this era mostly bunched around the rim isnt good for anyone.

The Pels will have the full MLE and the market for big men shouldn’t be very high. Favors isn’t getting more than that anyway, so we should have some options. Not saying that they won’t re-sign him, but I don’t think his Bird Rights will have much to do with it.

One of the choices we were going to have to make was Guard vs. Big with the MLE. Getting both Bledsoe and Hill means you are free to use the MLE on a big if you keep them (or get replacements in any trades you make)

I seen again today, rumors around the league is Ibaka will be around 5 million a year, 3/12-15 is his anticipated market.

Betting odds have Pels at 2nd to get him

Favors basically got the equivalent of a normal offseason off, between the shutdown and the bubble and looked even worse.

We'd be really dumb if we don't use that as a warning, if we were considering re-signing him, hoping he'd get himself right over a typical offseason.

FYI Pels won't be able to aggregate salary in any Bledsoe or Hill flip until much later. So any trade happening soon will be just the player + any picks. Example - can't combine Bledsoe + Miller for a bigger salary number.
siap, but it looks like this date is Dec.8, so that takes us into training camp.
