You dudes really don't know how good he is or what he can do. Here's some of the shite you'll see from him as a Pel.

I've been pushing for him since the beginning of the season

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Can hit open threes and defend above average.

If you want him to start for you, he's not your guy, but he's exactly what you want off the bench.

Most teams could use a Josh Richardson. And most teams that add a Josh Richardson to the rotation are better for it.

Works next to CJ, works next to Jose, works next to Kira or Dyson.

Should and probably will find around 20mpg the rest of the way.

With a fully healthy team, where does he get 20 mpg?

CJ
Herb
Zion
BI
Jonas

Nance
Trigga
Naji
Jose
Dyson

Richardson
Billy
Jax
Kira

Will he take Dyson's spot and guard the other teams 1 or 2 down the stretch?

So a solid 2 guard who can be a solid rotation piece? Okay, That's fine.

My real question is can he be a small ball 3?

where are we finding decent minutes for all of these guys. Dyson and Kira seem like they’re now gonna play a lot less. Less development from our young players for JRich.

Dyson is currently on the shelf with no ETA announced on a return.

Kira? Yeah, I think Kira’s not getting many minutes.

Yes, right now he serves as a solid veteran backup SG, which lets Dyson season a bit and gets a bit more shooting in the second unit without sacrificing size.

Nice pickup that helps round out the roster a bit.

and when he comes back? He’s practicing rn so I’m sure he’s not too far out from returning.

Dyson is out for who knows how long and this guy is a more proven player than Kira. This also allows you to play really big if you want to. Don’t overthink this. Some games he might play 20 minutes, some games he might play 5. He’s a rental, play him if he helps you win, if he doesn’t don’t play him

Knowing Willie he’s gonna play JRich no matter what. Similar to DG. Which is okay because he’s actually decent but when we know we aren’t doing anything significant this postseason and as everyone has said we want to assess our players for the future.. wouldn’t you want to play Dyson when he eventually returns and Kira?

It’s weird that after rising enough to be in the Jimmy Butler to Miami trade, a product of Heat culture, that he can’t stick anywhere. Why do you think that is?

He's gonna dip into all of those guys.

JRich is the most well-rounded bench wing we will have.

He balances pretty much all the lineups where before we were sacrificing either shooting, size, or defense.

Yes because a small ball 3s are essentially regular sized shooting guards

Dyson was playing over graham before he got hurt. Idk why he wouldn’t play over JR when he comes back from injury

Initially, too high of expectations. Recently, shift in situation.

He is a jack of all trades, master of none.

First two stops post-Miami teams wanted him to be a starter. He's not that guy.

Went to Boston and was loved. Here's the Boston Reddit right after they traded him for White

Spurs fans loved him too. Said he was the perfect culture setter and lockerroom guy and sneakily one of the best players on the team(not saying a ton given the roster, but still).

Guys like him move around. Josh Hart is on his third team in less than 2 full seasons. It's not always an indictment on the player, but the situations they get traded into.

not quite a good comparison
Hart has moved three times in three years because his contract is so tradeable. We said that the minute he signed it. Trading for josh hart carries zero risk

JRich went out for better players

Hart went out for CJ, Richardson just went out to upgrade Graham and our bench.

Richardson and Hart are both positive value guys in this league.

I mean you all don't have to take my word for it, simply wait and watch him play.

We can circle back to these threads with doubters after a few games and see where people's doubt stands.

J-Rich was traded by Philly, Dallas, and Boston in consecutive seasons (when he was a better player), he’s not some world beater. He’s a fine player and gives more than Te, but he’s not materially affecting our season.
