We should figure out a way to get Willie Cauley-Stein before he actually becomes good. He's the type of center that I'd like to see next to Davis (I miss Young Tyson Chandler)

You can't do a Butler trade now, you have to let the Pels tank and make their pick worth more.

If the Pels were in the top 3 in the lottery, had the 6ers pick at 6ish, and could then trade the 2019 pick as well, plus anything else they want (Buddy, Diallo)...yeah that would be enough to get Butler I think.
But again, the 6ers aren't doing that deal with us.

There has to be a reasonable deal for oubre, porter, or Crowder out there.
Honestly, chasing centers is ridiculous. Every winning team in the past 6 years has had shite for centers. They do have a good big man, but all have good or elite sf

We know this, but Dell is legitimately retarded.
If it was up to me I would be doing every thing in my power to just fill up the roster with wings and scorers. A serviceable 4/5 swing can be found in this day and age fairly easily.

I want to sell myself that Okafor can fill the Monroe/Kanter scoring big off the bench role, but those guys may be one way players but they are at least multidimensional (they rebound/pass) with their one way-ness. That's why I've been trying to compare him to a cheap Jones replacement, mediocre rebounder that will score in the paint and get to the line and that's it.

okafor doesn't rebound even at mediocre level
kanter and Monroe are well above avg rebounders
he so flawed that it's comical
exactly why the pels want him I guess

Personally I am afraid what kind of center is next of his list.
After Okafor,Brook and Vuc...
Especially when Nurkic is gone...

they gave up Lopez 4 years ago to have a year in the wilderness at the 5, then give up a 1st and spend more combined salary ($16M) at the 5 than Lopez makes now ($13M).
eta- the 5 transaction history since Davis was drafted should be stamped on Demps's forehead

Why are you so hot for Okafor?
Do you just want to see a major trade or something?
i dunno. young talent is exciting.

He has a talent for something nobody needs anymore and is deficient in the things that actually help you win in today's NBA. Exciting!!!

And we want him to play for a coach that would ideally want to utilize the exact opposite of his skillset.
Demps!

They are trying to add names/talent in an effort to keep Jrue. I get the urgency and the logic, but go get actual talent, not a guy with a skill set that is useless outside of giving you 20mpg off the bench. That isn't gonna excite Jrue. Go get Brook Lopez and then a wing with the 2017 pick. That will keep Jrue here. You still won't get past the first round, but at least you will have relevant talent

General managers of potential trade partners of the 76ers might want to give Jahlil Okafor (sore knee) a physical before making a deal for him.
Okafor suffered a slight meniscus tear last March during his rookie season, causing him to miss 29 games.
Okafor has played in 37 of the Sixers' 55 games this season, but most of his time missed has not been because of injury, but instead head coach Brett Brown simply deciding not to play him."
Demps is going to go all in on Okafor now that the knee issue has come to his attention. I see a Eric Gordon 2.0 in our midst.
