16th best point guard is one of the best in the league last year? Yeah, I'm the casual fan.

Well considering every roster has more than 1 point guard on it, I'd say that's pretty good.

@FletcherMackel

Hornets dumping Jarrett Jack means they'll now sign a free agent center. I'm sure they'll target Jordan Hill but he may be too pricey.

Fletcher gone Fletch.

He's got no clue. Did anyone listen to 690 around lunchtime. DOOM & GLOOM!!! Hosts both said they needed to get a beer after Fletch fletching...Good lord

Maybe they pull at Dwight Howard out of the hat?

Isn't Davis bigger than him anyway?

Only one team had two guys on the list ahead of him, and that was Houston with Lowry and Dragic. Which means 14 teams had better starting point guards than us, and 15 had worse. Almost the definition of average. For a starting point guard at least, which is how he was getting paid. He'd be a very above average backup

As of now starting lineup is

Rivers
Gordon
Aminu
Anderson
Davis

Not to shabby

I bet Vasquez will be the starter

690 is dumb for having him on all the time. I stopped listening because I can't stand anything that tries to pass off Mackel as someone who the people want to listen to.

Fletcher, Larry, and Gus will just keep using each other to stay relevant until no one is listening.

I'm not saying he was All Star worthy, but you also have to remember there wasn't a lot of scoring talent on our team. Jack had to do a lot of the scoring and shooting for us. He did a good job in his situation last year. I don't mind letting him go for the betterment of the franchise, though. Let's see what happens next.

I more worried about losing his leadership and experience

His numbers were also inflated due to being on a shitty team... Not saying Jack sucks, but he's far from a top PG in the league

He's getting the Darren Collison treatment...

Anyone who thinks JJ wasn't an asset last year for THIS team obviously didn't watch. He might not have been worth as much or other teams but last year we needed his leadership. He's also appears to be a damn nice guy and hard worker.

That said, it's obvious there was a reason for the move. Let's get it!

Oh i liked Jack too, and I'm glad he was on the team last year. It's not like I wanted him to be traded or anything, but I also don't think trading him is going to cripple the team for the future as some people seem to be suggesting

Looking over the centers, McGee is the only major guy left that I could see us needing to free up cap room to go after.

Jarrett Jack is a great guy and he will be missed, but he would have been gone after this season regardless.

...There wasn't enough minutes to go around this season with Jack, Vasquez, and Rivers

Nobody is saying he's a top PG. we're saying he well deserves a starting spot somewhere in the league.

Speaking of cap room, Mark Deeks of Sulia.com is claiming that we renounced Kaman, Landry, and Belli today.

I'm a little shocked at the last one considering the rumor that we did a S&T of Belli to the Clip Show.

Fletch just goes apeshit if a new FA signee doesn't tweet or say how much they love NOLA within their first 30 seconds
