quote:Not a chance the Pels would do that if in that situation. Zion is too marketable and the Pels would not give that up.
His hair is pouffed to make him look 6'8".
I wonder what you could get for him if you get the #1 ball?
I would deal down to #2 morant, and get another #1 for next year.
Similar to Luka for Trae and another #1 in this 2019 draft.

I’m curious, for anyone saying Zion for AD is dumb for NYK. Let’s wind the clock back one year. No Klutch yet..etc. you can obtain KD for Zion with the team that swept Portland and was semi competitive against GSW. Would any of you actually keep Zion in that situation? I don’t even think it’s a debate. You get a chance to crack the title window wide open, you take it 100% of the time. You may not get that chance again for awhile. Ironically, ask the Knicks. They’ve been irrelevant for two decades despite being in a top two media market.
ETA: people are also forgetting how talented AD is because they despise the guy. If Zion turned into the talent that AD is now, any team would be stoked. Y’all are acting like he’s Lebron James already. You literally could probably not find a more complimentary piece in the entire NBA for KD and Kyrie than Davis. They’d be able to score from anywhere on the court and attack you with so many dimensions. They’d have their defensive anchor. It’s just a silly debate.

all 29 other teams would trade zion for AD, if they thought they could convince him to stay. this is not even a good debate

People also forget how unmarketable AD is also ..
He talks like he has his fist in his mouth. Zion already sounds like hes taken a course on How to Give Interviews to Large Media Outlets
To any basketball fan this would be an asinine reason to do anything, but to an owner looking to make money (regardless if they win games), it might mean something

Sorry but 29 Nba teams wouldnt trade Zion for AD. Not even close. Zion is a billboard and Highlight pregame show. If Zion is on tv next year and you are flipping channels would you not stop to watch him.. You think people say that about AD?

It's not just Zion for AD that you're potentially talking about. It could be Zion for AD who then attracts KD and another really good player if we're talking about the Knicks. KD isn't going to NYC to play with Zion. He would to play with AD.

Have you heard Kd say personally or anyone connected to the man I want to play with Anthony Davis. No you havent. Have you heard Anthony Davis or anyone connected to Anthony Davis say I want to play with Kevin Durant. No you havent. Only thing we know is Davis wanted to play for the lakers for obvious reasons. Yall are just fishing for stuff thats not there. Is it possible they all want to go to New York and play... Im sure it is. But i refuse to believe anyone has any kind of inside info on whats going on. I doubt the players even know how this turns out yet. I do know Zion is a once in a lifetime talent and will be extremely marketable. All these things matter to teams. Yall dont seem to understand its a business first and foremost.

AD wants to play with Kyrie and vice versa. Kyrie wants to play with KD and vice versa.
KD wants to play in New York. Kyrie wants to play in New York. AD said he would re-sign with New York.
As marketable as Zion may be, a superteam with 3 top 10-15 players in the game that could take down the Warriors and bring a trophy to the Knicks is infinitely more marketable.

It sounds great in theory but how often does the star align for it to actually happen? It’s rare. More often than not, those teams end up with nothing for their efforts. There’s got to be some Lebron like collusion going on for it to happen. Not to mention the Knicks will need to win the lottery. Is it possible? Sure but I skeptical that it’ll play out perfectly like that.

It is very rare that the stars align like this which is why you have to go for it when they do. That is the whole point. A quirk with the salary cap explosion and a helping hand from Dallas let the Warriors sign KD. Lebron and DWade conspired for a superteam.
KD and Kyrie talk every day. Kyrie and AD are also buds. The Knicks have ~27.5% chance of landing a top 2 pick. If they do so, they are going to trade Ja or Zion to the Pelicans for AD. It may be a bit of wishful thinking on our part, but there is too much chatter surrounding KD and Kyrie for it not to be a significantr possibility.

this is talked about like it is a done deal. i honestly dont see KD going unless there is another star going as well, and i dont see AD or Kyrie going.

Rival executives say "without hesitation" that Durant is "bound for the Knicks" and that Irving is "likely to join him," writes Howard Bek of Bleacher Report. Beck goes on to note that "virtually everyone" believes Durant is leaving the Warriors.
quote:
While speaking on WFAN with Mike Francesa, The Ringer's Bill Simmons said he would "bet the house" that Durant will land with the Knicks this offseason. He even went a step further to say, "I'd bet it's Kyrie [Irving] and Durant together."
quote:
"We have no idea what he's going to do," a Warriors source told Frank Isola of The Athletic about Durant's pending free agency, adding that "there's not much more we can sell him on."
If Durant leaves the Warriors this offseason, the "general consensus" among NBA executives, players, and coaches is that he will land with the Knicks, reports Isola.
quote:
Ethan Strauss of The Athletic -- who Durant called out by name during his recent tense presser with reporters -- said during his podcast Thursday that "There is infrastructure being laid down in New York, for him to go to New York -- if we're just completely real about it."
quote:
Durant's company, Thirty Five Ventures, is moving into a New York City office.
quote:
Mark Stein: The threat of the Knicks persuading Durant to leave one of the most dominant teams in league history has never felt more real to the Warriors themselves.
quote:
Rich Kleiman, Durant's business manager is a New York-based Knicks fan with dreams of working in their front office one day. Royal Ivey, perhaps Durant’s best friend, is on David Fizdale’s coaching staff.
The Knocks made moves to create the necessary cap space to bring in Durant and pal. There is a TON of evidence suggesting Durant is going to be a Knick along with another star.

So executives say its a no brainier and sources say they dont know. Thats not exactly any clarity on the matter.

So they want him to come there and are going to try hard to get him there. Ok.

Where is 35 ventures based out of now?

Well half the opinions contradict themselves. How many times have you heard "other league executives" say something that ends up being b.s. Some say its a done deal and then others say they have no idea. The Warriors are possibly worried, but who wouldnt be if one of the best players in the world is on your team and FA is coming up? All of those are to be expected.
