---but if I had to bet on which ones will be the MOST likely to be around at the start of the 25'/26' season I'd have to go with...

1. Trey Murphy (90%)
2. Herb Jones (89%)
3. Dyson Daniels (85%)
4.
5. Tie: BI or Zion (71%) Can't imagine BOTH being here
6. CJ (50%)
7. Val (7%) Again, nothin' personal, strictly business

Of course, if we win it all this year or next...all bets are off !!

I'll say this hot take.
I'm not waiting around anymore.
We have too many assets and too many good players to not be heading in the right direction this year.
We should be a top 6 team this year, or at least look like one as i know the west will be tough this year.

If the team is not meshing as we head into the 2024 calender year, then 1 of 3 things needs to happen.

1. Fire Willie - If the players simply don't believe in him and it shows, then get rid of him. I like him, just like Monty, but he might not be the right guy for this job.

2. Trade BI - He's going to want a $45M/yr+ contact after next year, and regardless of how good he is, he's not worth that. I loved what he did to get us to the Phoenix series, and what he did in that series, but if he doesn't mesh with Zion, then he needs to be traded for pieces that do. Could be something as simple as a BI for Zach Lavine (who i dont' care what anyone says, is capable of playing better defense than BI by a lot and is just as good if not better on offense than BI).
Could very easily move him to the Heat for something centered around Herro/Jovic.
To the Knicks centered around Barrett

or
3. Trade Zion - If his fat arse continues his normal way like he has the last 4 years, then get his arse out of here.

I think Trey and probably Jose are the only guys that are very likely to be here in 3 years, followed very closely by Herb and Dyson.

We really should have traded one for Scoot if it was actually possible. The reality is we can’t pay everyone and there’s a very low chance both BI and Zion love up to their contract numbers. It’s a sad reality that this core wasted so many years already that there’s no way for it to be possible long term.

I think trade BI is the only answer if they plan on keeping Zion and giving Trey the big contract too. Those 3 do not fit together. Zion and Trey are a perfect fit imo, and BI feels like an odd man out. If we can get a solid piece or two, no long term big money, and a couple of 1st rd picks back for BI I'd make that trade in a heartbeat. I hold out hope for some kind of Claxton and Finney-Smith plus picks trade personally.

BI is an interesting player. He plays at an elite level ~20-30% of the time. When he plays like that he’s a legit all star level scorer. Problem is when he’s not on he doesn’t bring enough to be worth the money and it causes the offense to be inefficient. I wouldn’t keep him.

That’s no where near enough for him.

For me it’s as simple as keep the better player. We’ve seen this team with Ingram leading it without Zion and we are at best a play in team. On the flipside we’ve seen this team led by Zion without BI and we were legit one of the best teams in the league.

It’s a no brainer who needs to go and who we need to build around. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the front office sees it the same way as us fans, because they’re still trying to square peg round hole it.

Now that the Scoot and Dame dreams are dead, I would look towards Cleveland and/or Knicks for an Ingram deal.

Something like
Ingram and Val and picks to Cavs
Mitchell to Knicks
Quickley, Allen, Barrett and a pick to Pela

It wasn't even 30 games. We were fading before he got hurt. This narrative has to stop. It wasn't going to last..

Maybe not, but how can you predict the future with such certainty?

Who knows how good that team would have been in the end, but

Team with Zion no BI >>>>> with BI no Zion.

It’s clear who is a winning player and it’s the one who has elite efficiency

We were 5-1 in the 6 games before his injury, I don’t believe thats fading bro.

In the month of December before his injury we were 10-5, thats being on pace for 55-56 wins. Thats not fading.

To go even further after Ingram’s toe injury until Zion got injured we went 12-5. We have NEVER had a run like that with Ingram as leader, the best run we’ve had was the end of last season when we went 10-7 and was bounced out of the play in, and that included 5 games against tanking teams.

I don’t think they were fading either, but I do think Zion got injured because carrying the team by himself was a strain. He definitely needs better pieces around him, including some that can win or at least not lose big when he’s off the floor.

I don't want to trade Ingram, but this is absolutely fact. Having Trey as a ready made replacement makes it a no brainer if one has to go.

Realistically, top 6 is pretty damned ambitious.

Agreed

I don't understand the logic of the some in this thread. Zion is better than BI so that means BI should be traded... why?

Zion is clearly the better player and the team clearly is better with only Zion compared to only BI, but that doesn't mean either needs to be traded.

Absolutely. The only way that happens is if Zion and Ingram play 60-65 games. That is not the norm for them.
