You had 2 picks last season and you could have had 2 picks this year. Traded 4 picks for Queen.

Good job.

The criticism of this trade is not about Queen. He showed enough flashes as a rookie for Pelicans fans to be optimistic. His defense and rebounding left something to be desired, but his potential as an offensive hub is intriguing. Instead, the problem is asset mismanagement and misevaluation. Dumars clearly overrated the Pelicans' roster and thought that they would be better than they ended up being. The Pelicans drafted two players in the lottery, which meant that they were going to have two rookies in the rotation. Dumars thought this would be a playoff team in the loaded Western Conference, while playing two rookies and having one of the worst point guard and center rotations in the league. Instead, the Pelicans ended up winning 26 games, despite having better-than-expected injury luck.

Plus, the Pelicans also way overpaid to climb ten spots in the draft. Even if Dumars mistakenly thought that the Pelicans would be good, why wouldn't he put some protections on the pick or receive another asset from the Hawks?

Oklahoma city and the pelicans we're in the same boat a few years ago..

You know how many teams were behind us in their rebuild and have zoomed past us even though they had less assets?

Cavs were one I mentioned a few times b/c they had a few players I’ve wanted when available over the years. They had no where near the war chest we had.

Griff and Dumars had horrible asset management and made mostly poor trades.

How many of those had a star player that missed over half of his games and was out of shape for damn near all of the other half?

Okc have less assets than us before they lucked into the right side of a top 3 all time bad trade?

Its disingenuous to say all of our problems are solely based on ownership and management.

This era (error) of Pelican Basketball rests squarely on the shoulders of one, Zion Williamson (with an assist from David Griffin). He was ordained 'The Franchise" before he even laced up his shoes in New Orleans and has floundered around in mediocrity, if not obscurity, ever since.

We have traded away 'real players' to 'build' around our mirage of a superstar only to see them excel elsewhere, while our guy treats us to an occasional awe-inspiring hammer and little else (yawn). We hold our collective breaths whenever he removes the bubble wrap and takes to the court hoping that he'll 'live' to play the next game. If the last seven years have taught us anything. it's that he's no 'Batman', perhaps an Alfred Pennyworth, but definitely not a 'Batman'.

He's a superstar with no game...a power forward that can't rebound...a defender who is a turnstile...and, generally, a diva that makes more headlines off the court than on it.

We've invested over $200,000.000 already in this 'one-trick-pony' with JD suggesting that another extension is on the horizon. But management is cheap, don't you know?

Ask yourself this question: Is this team better or worse than it was before the draft in 2019? If your honest with yourself, you'll come up with the right answer.

Otherwise, I know, this whole mess is all Gayle's fault. the Catholic church's fault, and Ochsner's fault. LOL

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!

people said the same shite about her on the football side. its purely just fans throwing petulant tantrums needing a bad guy to blame it all on.
Notice how you said some words but didn't answer the question?

That's ok, I'll ask again...

What successes has she has that deserves being defended?

I refuse to answer stupid questions. If I said nfc championship game then you’ll say that’s not her credit then what’s the point of arguing w people like you. She’s doing well on the football side. Had to rebuild post Payton and drew and the cap situation. Not that easy.

Nah, I'd say the Pelicans don't play football.

So your answer to the question of what success has she had with the Pelicans is she did well in football?

And get you think the qyestion was stupid and not the answer

Saints are 11-23 last 2 seasons and an underdog in 12 of 17 games this year. No, I’m not ready to crown Gayle doing well in football yet.

The Saints could go 17-0, win the Super Bowl and outscore their opponents 750-0 and you still wouldn’t compliment Gayle.
