He'll claim that the same extension would have been there when Nance became a free agency, which is obviously false.

i think it stung a bit more this past couple games with so many starters out, and honestly i thought willie should have found him minutes, if for no other reason than to show confidence in him. its not surprising that he's frustrated

At this point, I think it's hard to justify continuing to give Jaxson minutes over Billy.

I also thought that our lead over the Clippers was big enough in the 2nd half to give Billy some minutes, but oh well.

Plus, seems like every year Jax only remembers how to play basketball and prep AFTER we bench him for Billy.

So seems like a win/win at this point

I'll wait and see a bit. He's definitely valuable and fits the team well. I didn't give his defense enough credit for sure. I still don't like the timing. But happy to take the L at this point.

If anything it feels like we need a 2nd Nance.

I’m over Hayes, he doesn’t contribute shite to the team. When you can’t even contribute to the team woth BI Zion and Herb all out it really says a lot

We just need to get healthy. Once BI and Herb comes back, Trey will get all of Hayes rotation minutes since they're going to have to find minutes for him to get extended time on the court.

I'd really like to do a swap of Jaxson for Zach Collins.
If Billy really want to go somewhere where he'll play more, and SAS say they'd play him, then i'll throw him in there too, just give us back Gorgui Dieng to sit at the end of the bench.

Wonder if Houston would be willing to give up Garuba? He doesn’t play for them. Same size as Nance and very high energy, under contract 2 more years at the same amount as Willy.

Brooklyn needs size and they don’t play Cam Thomas, send Brooklyn Willy and 2 2nds, Cam to Houston, Garuba to Pels

Most of Hayes minutes are being paired up with JV. We're going going to him because Murphy is playing a bigger role in the starting line up. If you have Willy and JV in the game at the same time, that would be a disaster in the making.

Hernangomez started 8 games last year and averaged 14/10 in less than 27mpg. He can fill it up quick. If Val is out an extended time, he's the best replacement (other than going small with Zion at the 5). He's a great insurance policy. That's my fear in letting him go. If we are fully healthy, he should barely ever see the floor. He's not going to like that..

JV & Hayes have played 12 minutes together. their ORTG is 87.0 and DRTG is 124.0
billy and JV together will be just fine

No. Thank you. I rather neither play.

And besides, you're essentially asking Willy to defend on the perimeter.

several posters have brought up nance as part of the reason billy hasnt played. thru 6 games the pels have eleven 2-man lineups that have played 70+ minutes together. ALL of them have a positive net rating except...two that include nance

nance & jose is -16 in 74 mins
nance & graham is -11.5 in 73 mins

nance & trey is +9 in 93 mins (trey is personally +8 in all his minutes)

Sample size, man.

Just logically speaking, we have a shite ton of offense and rebounding, but need defense. Billy provides offense, rebounding and no defense.

nobody is advocating that he play big minutes, nor take any of nance's minutes. but he should get SOME run. give him hayes' minutes

Our bench got uncharacteristicly blitzed in that suns game and that’s where those - numbers are coming from.

Hayes got some burn at the 5 against Utah and got benched very quick and was out of the rotation.

He only got minutes when our wings started to go down and Naji and Trey we're the only ones available off the bench and they were starting and playing big minutes forcing the team to go to Hayes for some minutes guarding spacers at the 4.

Hayes is not ahead of Willy at the 5.

And Willy isn't a PF who can guard spacing 4s to simply say he should take Hayes minutes.

Hayes is only getting minutes due to injuries.

Both should be on the bench getting DNPs when we're healthy.

I thought Hayes played better yesterday tbh. His minutes with Zion seemed very solid.

And I think we have been using him incorrectly for most of the season.

If we stick Billy in the lineup and tell him to stand in the same corner that Jaxson has been standing in on offense, I’m not sure that’s a solution.

I think a lot of this will work itself out when Ingram and Herb come back and Trey Murphy and Naji get shifted back to the bench.

I don’t think Jaxson or Billy is really in the rotation if our team is healthy and we play the way we want to play.

That’s evident to me due to the lack of plan and weird role they have had for Jaxson in his minutes.
