Last off season was nothing but skinny Zion articles.

I feel like media doesn’t really care too much for Zion anymore, but that’s what happens when you spend your career on the sidelines.

Yeah his star is fading. Jordan brand must be pissed, they assumed they had signed the next big thing and spent millions of his shoes and marketing and he never plays.

I don't think any of us will feel safe until they've won the title. This train can go off the tracks at any time.

i think there was a noticeable difference in BI this past year in regards to his strength. He had no problem backing people down and getting his shot off using his strength first, then his length.

Yea, he'll never be the strongest dude, but it does seem like he wasn't able to be pushed around as much last season, and could lean into defenders and create space a bit more efficiently.

That and just effort on defense. Down the stretch last season, there were too many games the effort was just bad.

But that's also a function of bearing too much of the offensive load. When Zion plays, BI has the energy to play better defense.

The young man is the laughingstock on ESPN and NBA broadcasts. He is seen as a 22-year-old lazy fat slob bust that does not give a shite after banking over a $100 Million.
Imagine getting 10s of millions and ghosting your billionaire employer for months.
His actions speak much louder than his words.
Continue the experiment for another year or dump him while you still can?

Shouldn't he be there along side BI?

Probably for the best, he'd likely pull something and have an "off-season" ending injury.

If y’all couldn’t get enough of this same joke 1000 times last offseason, I have some good news for you.

We see guys like Tatum carry just as big of an offensive burden and also play defense night in and night out. If he's doing these 2 a days, somewhere in there, conditioning should be a part of it to be able to play 4 quarters of defense.

But honestly, I'm not saying it's never the reason, but I'd push back a bit to say that the lack of effort is always due to energy. It just doesn't seem like he's really locked in and dedicated to be a difference maker on defense. It's not the end of the world, lots of the most elite dudes are in the same boat, but obviously if you can get that changed, it's a huge boost to the team.

We also see guys like Tatum and Brown working out together every offseason. People talked about their fit for a longest time and yet they proved critics wrong time and time again. We're still waiting for that synergy from BI and Zion.

Someone makes a nice thread about BI, and the board hikacks it into yet another Zion-hate thread, with people making jokes for the hundredth time that weren't even funny the first time. I used to like this place. I guess that I'm just getting old and have less tolerance for insipid immaturity, because this is not new here. I can remember times when every single thread would get hijacked.

That’s kinda what happens when your star players can barely play a full season combined after four years together. Fan base gets jaded.

And here I was just dunking on Honest Man/MM about the nonsense he spewed about BI and the front office…then this turned into a Zion hate thread.

It’s Louisiana sports fans probably all sports fans in general. Mostly negative so they can bitch about something.

DG literally said in his losing presser there will be fitness requirements this off-season that made it sound very Miami Heat-ish.

I will be holding him accountable to that

He's had enough injury info check out that it's clear he has a source in the building. He really hasn't hit on more than injuries, so it might be the janitor, but him being aware of BI doing 2 a days at the practice facility should be legit.

I have been pounding the gavel for this the past 3 years. As a small market team in the NBA your development program has to be elite. Your gains as a player can’t just come from in-season experience. Hopefully BI is helping the team set a fitness standard. Borderline ridiculous that young players can look the same physically year after year. Particularly with Coach Green’s intended style of play (force, multi-positional), you can not trot out a lineup giving away strength at each position save Zion (who needs to drastically trend in the other direction … 265lbs while maintaining his strength) and Val.
