Easily Evans. He doesn't really fit in with the type of team we are building. I say trade him or Ryno for a decent SF that plays defense.

Monty - Evans really either way and it sucks cause I like the guy. He can't do what Monty wants on D, and Monty isn't strong enough to rein him in on O.

No Monty - I would have to debate Evans/Holiday.

I want to get rid of Evans and Ryno and pick up Jimmy Butler or someone close to his skill set.

It all depends on Jrue's injury. If it's something he can bounce back from, then Tyreke. He plays out of position because he doesn't have a position. He plays tough and you have to like the guy, he wins some games for us, but he also losses games for us.
If Jrue's injury is chronic and he can't come back, the Jrue. I personally hope he can get healthy.

What is Chicago going to do? All the rumors say they're firing Thibs. Jimmy Butler isn't a #1 and Derrick Rose's shell is clogging up the cap for 2 more seasons after this. They look like they need to hit the reset button. S&T Butler for Gordon and our 2016 pick, would any other team offer more than that for a maxed out Butler? Would maxing out Butler be enough to steal him?

Evans, no doubt.

It sure seems Butler would be a nice fit on this team if there were a way to get him. Evans and Ryno for him (I'd hesitate to lose Ryno and I have no reason to think the Bulls would really do the deal) would be acceptable to me.

I doubt they'd want Ryno, they have a solid front court with Noah, Gasol, Gibson, and Mirotic.

PG we traded for and paid big money to who has played 47% of the possible games since he got here. 47%!

Meanwhile, 2 guys we couldve had have been balling in March

Nerlens Noel - 20 years old

13 PPG
11 RPG
2 BPG
2 SPG

Elfrid Payton - 21 years old

13 PPG
8 APG
6 RPG
2 SPG

Could've had 2 future All Stars and and Jrue's $10m per to spend on someone who can actually stay on the floor. Would've be fun to see

Or you could have had Trey Burke and Dario Saric. But most likely the hindsight move is still another trade and who else you could have gotten for just #6. Would that have been enough to do a S&T of Jeff Teague? On paper it seems like good value but seeing where Atlanta is right now I'm not sure they make a trade to get younger.

Evans. He would fit best as the 6th man he was brought here to be, but bench scoring is replaceable. His issues with decision making and struggles on the defensive end make it an easy decision. It's easy to like his playmaking ability and toughness, but I get so frustrated watching him ruin games in the fourth. He takes away from AD's brilliance when he eats up shot clock and plays iso basketball.

All three are replaceable, but I think Jrue and Gordon fit better alongside AD.

Gordon is playing solid ball - good defense, spot up shooting, and passing. He needs to improve his scoring inside of the arc, but I'll take what he's given us this season any day.

Jrue has the potential to be our long term PG. I wish he was healthy. He's missing out on the floor chemistry, which is the main problem. We've seen the team mesh while he's been on the bench. He provides enough passing, scoring (though inefficient at times), and defense to be a second/third anchor on the team. Plus nobody will trade for him with his injury history.

None. I want Gordon to fall off the books, and I want to see if Jrue is healthy next year. Need to keep Reke because he is the only one I am sure is going to actually put on a uniform every night.

Chicago would get better offers than that. If they don't get a huge offer for him, they probably hang onto him until Rose expires. Try to add more pieces in two years. If it's not working out, they can trade him on the back end of his second deal. And who is to say that by then he isn't a #1? He's improved this much, so how do we know he's approaching his ceiling?

Even if he's not, the escalating cap makes him a good value going forward. If he's getting paid $15 million, under a $90 million cap that's the equivalent of $11 million in today's cap dollars, which would seem to be great value for what he is now.

Since the trade:

Holiday 71 GP
Noel 66 GP

I don't think Noel was the Pels pick and I don't think the Holiday trade was a disaster in concept. But Noel looks like a legit defensive anchor for a top 10 defense (the much mocked and threadbare Sixers). While the Pels improved and are more competitive, not much of that is because of Holiday. Holiday's injuries have turned the trade into, most likely, a loss for NO.

Of course, based on what we've seen with Asik, I doubt Monty could scheme a good defense around Noel/Davis too.

Kind of the point I was trying to make. Why would Chicago dump what you just described for Gordon and a 2016 late first rounder? Just because Rose is eating up cap space doesn't mean they should sell low on their best asset.
