I certainly am going back and forward with three players but who do you guys want at pick 3 if Harper and Cooper gone?

I want a PG. I actually like Fears (super young with high upside) as much as Jakucionis. I wouldn't mind us trading back a little, if we can still get one of those two. Would probably need to stay in the top 5-6. I wouldn't get too cute or drop too low. If I had to I'd just draft one of those at 3 if I didn't get an offer I liked..

Bailey. I’m gonna bet on that size and shooting every time.

Then play him where? Who are you trading away?

wait, is this conversation based on the assumption that we are going to have a full deck of healthy players?

Fears size (frame)and lack of shooting scares me. Realistically idk how he would stay on the floor. I would have hope he would go to a team that would allow him to have growing pains because if not he has bust potential.

Ace Bailey is another guy that will need time to develop. We will need strong coaching who will coach out his bad habits of taking contested mid ranges like a guy we were not thrilled to see in BI. Bailey impact to stay on the court early on will be like a MPJ meaning shooting threes. But like Fears, he needs to go to a team like the Brooklyn nets where he has the patience to develop.

Never draft on need. Take BPA every time.

I’m certainly not drafting with Zion in mind, he doesn’t warrant making franchise decisions around anymore.

I would agree, as long as they can start and play right away. Players don't get better watching. It's also dumb to pay someone 12M+ to not participate. It kills player development.

But need has to become a factor at some point. We need a PG. There are only 3 that are rated as potential plus starters at this moment (could change as we get closer to the draft). Finding the best fit, to go along with Murphy long-term, would be the best path forward. Drafting someone that's just like Murphy and can't potentially fit next to him for extended periods isn't the best choice..

IF we end up with 3rd pick...in my dream draft scenario...I'm hoping Hornets get the 1st pick. THEN...pre-draft...we trade Zion AND our 3rd pick...for the 1st pick (Flagg, of course)...AND Brandon Miller.

I doubt the Hornets would even CONSIDER doing this...so I'd be prepared to throw in a few extra "sweeteners"...to get this deal done. (BTW: The Hornets should NOT even think about...mentioning Trey or Herb in this trade...but ANYBODY else...is worth talking about)

The more I watch college ball the better I feel about the draft. We've always known this is a deep draft but I'm starting to feel it's deeper than I even previously thought. I would be absolutely thrilled with a top four pick. I would go:

Flagg
Harper
Edgecombe
Bailey

Part of me is even tempted to move Edgecombe in the #2 spot

I think we should still be pretty excited about getting the #3 overall pick. It begins tier 2 obviously (Cooper and Harper both being the tier 1 guys), but this is such a loaded draft class.

What would suck is if we get the 5th or somehow end up 6th or something like that. That's when we know we'll have one of the last remaining tier 2 guys that we didn't get to choose from.

If Booker gets traded, it will be to Houston because they have the Suns’ firsts.

Can’t really bottom out if you don’t control your own firsts.
