It's a situation where you're damned either way. If we're trading him it's because of stuff like this, which means we won't get a great return, which means our 1/2 will e BI/CJ which means we won't ever win anything meaningful. IMO, that's a guarantee.

Yep it’s like we said last night. If he’s healthy at the end of the year and playing well, there’s no need to trade him. If he’s like this at the end of the year, we wouldn’t get shite for him. So we have no choice but to ride it out and hope he starts taking things seriously. There’s been enough talk from legends of the game and even from veterans like JJ, CJ, Nance.

At some point, Willie may have to bench him and have him come off with the second unit in order to send a message.

I don't want a star player. I just want really good players that win consistently, that give you a hope of making a great playoff run. I want to make the playoffs more than miss them. I can take a down year, but not almost every season..

Even if that's the case, you need to somehow place some accountability on him and make him buy into it. He can't keep coming into the season out of shape. I just don't think Willie has the personality to be the guy that can demand that kind of standard for him. And That's going to continue to be a problem if they decide to keep Green.

If cap matching did not exist, I 100% would not take Julius Randle and 3 1sts for nothing.

It makes no sense to trade 1 lazy dude for the next lazy dude.

At least Zion does give us good offense. Maybe not consistently but he's infinitely better on offense than Randle.

Imagine all the same shite we hate about Zion being lazy and not giving effort...now add to that terribly inefficient shooting that keeps shooting and shooting.

Yeah I get Randle has his issues. But I don’t know if I would call Randle lazy. Hes shown to be highly productive, is well conditioned and is a part of a competitive playoff team. I mean you’re trading glimpses of efficient Zion for a guy who can score a multitude of ways but yes can be frustrating with his shot selection. To say Randle is lazy and doesn’t give effort- I don’t agree with that at all.

He's arguably as bad as Zion with the standing around on defense. It's awful.

Very inefficiently...very.

Just google "Julius Randle Effort" and you'll get a shite ton of articles and Youtube videos.

Maybe even better, search the same on Twitter. It's bad, real bad.

You need a star player to make a run in the playoffs.

I'm on podcast 4 or 5 today and every single one of them saying the same thing...you see Zion on TV and think he doesn't quite look his best.

Then you see him in person and it's eye popping how out of shape he is.

It's just wild to me that he really thought he could say all this stuff in the summer about radically changing his diet and taking care of his body... and just not do any of it.

There's a scary kind of immaturity and ignorance to think you could get away with that.

Since day 1, dude has been the king of saying the right things to the media, but this has been next level.

That was the Gilbert Arenas podcast, right?

I'd be interested to see some snippets of that next pod after this game lol.

No you don't. Teams make runs all the time without a "star".

Winning a Championship is another thing. Probably can't win that without a star. But it can always be all or nothing..

What do you consider "a run"?

For me it's conference finals at least. For that, you need a star or a weak conference.

That's fair. That's a top 4 team. No one really considered Butler a star until Miami kept winning and going on runs. That's the rub. If we went to the conference finals with a team led by Murphy and Jones, they are going to become stars. Curry wasn't a star until they started winning. Its a chicken/egg argument..

We had Randle on our team before and I was never impressed; although, his game was a far cry from where it is now. Then his game expanded to where it is now, and, honestly, I am still not impressed. Hard pass for me. I would much rather see what the Zion drama ends up revealing about our Pels' future than to get a mediocre (my eye test) player like Randle is.

Zion should be embarrassed. But I bet all of this criticism will only make him clam up.

He’s a big baby. His parents, especially his father, failed him. Instead of raising a man, they raised a man-child.

Dude honestly needs someone to kick his arse.

Maybe the best part of this in-season tournament and making it to the semis was how many eyes were on the Pels the past two games. Barkley said it himself, it was the first full game he'd watched of Zion this season and the entirety of NBA media is criticizing his effort and weight. If this does not snap him into focus/determination, I don't think anything will.

Real talk do you seriously think about trading him inFebruary? I been trying to defend him and think he’ll get in shape. But last night was an embarrassment of epic proportions. Personally, I watched his pregame interview and I was like wtf was wrong with him- he looked totally wasted. The laughing/giggling on the celebration comments was immature too. Its almost like you could see this performance coming. Maybe a team like New York, desperate for a star, offers you Randle and a pick? Do you take that and just move on?

He and BI acted like they had had way too much fun in Vegas and both of their play showed it on the court.
