You’re more than likely right. These guys always try and be positive on the decisions we make just to be let down time and time again during the Zion era. This trade will more than likely be no different. The ranting is justified. It’s a reckless trade no matter how someone wants to paint it.

I’ll eat crow if Queen looks legit AND the best pick between us and bucks falls outside the top 10 in 2026

The low point for me was trading Tyson Chandler. That roster had championship potential

He was my favourite player. I was at that MLK game when he went down and remember thinking "oh man" bc we had been hearing about his foot forever. Wish we'd have stuck with him. My fanhood was never the same after that season and I gave up my tickets the next year

This thread says alot about you not knowing nothing about anything.

And if Hackintosh agrees with you then it's valid you know nothing.

That the best owner the Pels have ever had is the worst owner in the NBA is quite revealing. Sell the team.

No he would have traded it for a 2nd round picks in 2027 and 2030.

This not so much an endorsement of Gayle as it is an indictment of how terrible the franchise has been!

Then you should feel happy, it’s likely not going to get any worse and certainly won’t be as bad as you’re making it out in your head.

I'm with you, OP. People are taking a heavy dose of copium after the draft, but every move this franchise has made over the last 2 years has been atrocious. I'm starting to genuinely question whether they are trying to facilitate moving the team, because they are hemorrhaging support.

I honestly don’t think it’s an overreaction

If it was just this trade, then sure

We hired a guy (basically without interviewing anyone else) who hasn’t been good at this job for 20 years just because he’s our buddy.

Almost every move we’ve made since landing Zion has been the wrong one.

Couple that with the behind the scenes stuff you hear about our organization - Murray not being able to get time on the training table, for example - and the subsequent “read between the lines” reactions of people in the know, and it’s clear that we are completely rudderless.

The only safety net we’ve had is our picks and the potential to eventually hit on them if things continue to go off the rails, and we just gave a piece of that potential away to move up 10 spots in this draft.

Next year’s draft is LOADED, and we were awful last year.

Putting it all together, it’s hard to find any optimism long term.

I’ll be rooting for the opposite, obviously, despite what the usual suspects here think of my criticisms.

Pels won't be in New Orleans in the 2030s. I have given up.

Agree, the sooner we can move the team we can shut this board down.

I think you're overreacting like all of the so-called experts and analysts on these sports cable channels. I was hoping they'd take Fears in the first rd and they did. The Fears kid is a helluva player and will make them better immediately. Him and the kid they got from Atlanta should be a really good backcourt. As for the trade and getting Queen, I like it because Queen is a heckuva big man who will play power forward and should be a good one. He can also swing over to center and provide backup ability there, but I've seen this kid's video and he's good. He can handle himself well for a big man, they or some analysts thought he was a lottery pick because of that ability. I don't like that they gave up a first to get him, a second yeah, but Dumars wanted his guy and he did whatever it took to get him. Only time will tell if he was right.

Also, people keep talking about how much trash the Pels were last season. The Pels were trash last year for a reason or reasons. They had multiple players hurt last season, Zions missed most of last season again. They traded Ingram even though I wanted them to keep him, any player can have a bad playoff run. Also, they didn't re-sign big man Valanciunas and had a rook playing center. So, it's no wonder they didn't finish last.

Wait, what?

What has happened to feel good about the Pelicans? Is this real life...

We're at an all time low right now, not sure why that's even up for debate.

That's an interesting way of saying our terrible owner is terrible.
