Yes I don't think Jrue stays regardless like Ryan too many issues. He lost 3 years of his career because of medical issues and the medical staff didn't make it easier.

We need another PF we need Thomas Robinson

If he has a great year and is healthy, I think that mitigates the problem, but I see where you are coming from.

Winning changes everything...
I also wonder if a lot of this is bc of losing Monty...I like Gentry well enough but i feel like the players loved Monty especially AD Ryno and Jrue

Maybe Cat Barber is the next Jrue Holiday and all this becomes a mute point.

He was also part of the problem. He knew about it before the trade and still kept it to himself for quite some time.
Tiny stress/hairline fractures aren't always easily seen on XR.

Jrue seems like a true west coast guy. I've never seen him truly embrace the city and never really got love here. He spent more time on the sidelines than the court. He doesn't have any real connections here or a winning situation that would make him want to stay. he seems like a diverse guy and this isnt a diverse city. Like you said if he stays healthy and surpass expectations I think he stays. But if we are fighting for a 8th-7th seed he's gone. Teams like the Rockets, Knicks, and Sac will be in high request for him. I honestly don't see it going well for us.

I'm sure he won't think that way

If you do honestly believe that, then $20M per year is a steal over having to pay him something close to his max ($29M) to keep him next summer.
I'd let him walk before giving him 20 or 29 million a year. Absolutely ridiculous numbers, and I don't care what everyone else is making. He's just not that good.
ETA: and he has a serious, documented, debilitating injury.

It's amazing to me that NBA players don't find NOLA more alluring. Checks off a lot of boxes in terms of city appeal but I guess winning and ownership trump that

New Orleans is great for your average Joe but this isn't a rich mans city. A young black millionaire are doesn't care about the food, festivals, parades, and architecture. They like beach homes, nice cars ( you stand out here in any car nicer than a Benz), just living the rich mans life style. The only rich society we have is old money of 70 year old white country club men.

Partly but not entirely the case.

I generally think the "FAs would want to play with our star" is way overdone by fans, but specifically with regards to PGs, I have to think playing with AD is something most PGs would love because he can help make them an All Star more than any other player in the league.

that's the truth.
you drive around in a Benz in LA or Miami, and you're poor.

New Money cities and large markets are much more appealing to young NBA athletes. We don'have the glitz and glamor. We are laid back with a limited club scene and corresponding talent.
New Orleans is not a draw for young men making 8 figures unless they grew up around here.

Well see they are right a ton of guys want to play wit AD. Just not in NOLA they want AD to come to their team. That's why I like guys Ryan and Tyreke they wanted to play here they wanted to be part of this city. I've seen Tyreke and Ryan all around the city from walking around the mall or in the FQ or in the clubs. I've even seen AD a couple of time but never have I heard of Jrue or Gordon being seen out in the city those guys just don't seem to vibe the city. Looks how Dame acts with Portland that is a guy who truely loves where he is at.

Frankly, if NO becomes competitive and is perceived as a potential contender, the franchise will be able to sign FA's.

Is AD smart enough to realize what that makes him in that relationship?
