There’s frankly nothing in his entire career that says to me KD is an a-hole or douche.

Its pretty douchy to bail on a team after 1 year who bet big on you. Durant came off a significant injury and Brooklyn bet on him. Him bailing 1 year is not great.

So do you think will happen if it goes downhill in Nola? Do you really think he'll put his best foot forward? I dont

Not that i feel like Brooklyn is the most sympathetic figure but the same thing could easily happen to us if he gets pissy

I don't like the precedent of a player bailing on a team with 4 years left on his deal after he got paid 40 mil for a year recovering from his achilles.

Neither do I.

He seems to always be looking for "better"...when you are not happy winning multiple chips with the best team in the last decade than what will make you happy?

I’m with you that I am not interested in adding Durant to our team. But he’s got more than a year left in him, unless he has a really bad injury. He’s just a drama queen, and not the right type of attitude or locker room presents that we want on this team. We have built, or are trying to build a certain type of culture and you can see where it’s going. He would totally displace all of that. It’s not as much about the gas left in the tank to me as much as it is the damage he could do to what we are building in our locker room

Why do people think that he's a drama queen?

He’s a douchebag who took 40 mil from a team to rehab his injury and then 1.5 years later demands a trade BEFORE year 1 of his new max contract begins. Because he and his bro ran the team into the ground. Every basketball decision he and kyrie made went to shite and now both are trying to bail now and the reasoning is that their team isn’t all that great. FFS woj is reporting that kyrie and kd STILL want to play together. Just not for the nets. After the nets gave them more input and power than any players in history outside of bron and maybe jordan.

People get mad at the way AD handled his exit from us. This is easily 10x worse.

Yeah, KD really destroyed that team by refusing to get vaccinated. And then, that's what caused Harden to want out.

Absolutely KD's fault.

KD had an up and coming playoff caliber coach fired because he wanted to play Allen over a objectively washed deandre jordan.

KD pushed for the team to drain virtually all of their future assets to get jim harden, who he then helped run off the team the following year.

I’m sorry but sticking by an objectively toxic teammate like Kyrie and telling the nets that THEY are the assholes for not coalescing to Kyrie’s wish to be a part time player is fricking absurd and the height of douchebaggery. Could you imagine a player like Jrue shitting on the pelicans for benching AD after his trade request? No you couldn’t, because jrue is not a douchebag.

Say you want about LeBron and his team building ways, but I would certainly welcome the “LeBron” experience every single day and twice on Sunday versus the “KD” experience.

Bron plays out his contract, never asks for a trade and actually delivers championships everywhere he goes.

KD is just another example of players who want ALL the benefits of being a top player with none of the risks or downsides. He wants the big fat long term contract and all the power but once the going gets tough he wants out and YOU’RE the a-hole if you have a problem with that.

frick that shite.

He literally spends significant parts of his day arguing with randos and media people on the internet. The only person who embraces drama moreso is his best friend kyrie.

You just described 95% of the people on this forum…and every message board everywhere

If KD’s biggest character flaw is posting, he’s the most benign superstar in NBA history.

I’m less worried about his durability than him destroying our family culture and brotherhood that has developed last season. I don’t want him on the Pelicans at all.

what is the likelihood that BI is ever as good as KD is currently?

0-1%

KD is an all-time top 10 player, once he hangs them up... Ingram is no where close to that, and will never be... and that's totally OK with me, b/c he serves a role here in NOLA for my Pels...

I’m not sure I’d put KD top 10 unless he can keep playing at this level another 3-4 years and win some rings/carry teams deep in the playoffs ala Chuck

But I agree with your overall point, BI will be lucky to crack the all time top 100, KD is probably already all time top 15 to 25(was 13 on The Athletic’s recent list)

Which isn’t throwing shade at BI, cause I think he will continue to level up and be a routine all star player in his prime, but KD is on another level

Durant was the undisputed leader of the US Olympic team that won the gold medal last summer.

Seriously, how does that happen if he's such a locker room cancer?

People only discuss KD's leadership (or lack thereof) in the context of NBA titles, and I understand that. But leading a team to Olympic Gold isn't nothing.
