How many more playoffs does Zion need to miss before we figure it out?

His body simply isn't built to be a franchise / postseason player. Needs to be a # 3 or 4 player on a team that limits his minutes substantially. If he isn't willing to be that here, adios.

Unfortunately his trade value will be junk because most every other franchise figured this out about his body long ago.

while i do agree that he does still need to be a little lighter, he's not terribly far off of where he needs to be, and credit to him for starting to get it under control after the IST...

we literally just watched him drop 40, being the only offensive spark for the entire team, while being defended by one of the games greatest players ever... and you are saying he needs to be a #3 or 4 player on a team?
bruh, i can't even with this dude....

let's just say, for shits and gigs, the needs to be #3 on our squad... who's your #1 and #2 players on our squad? who's he playing 3rd fiddle to?

49 wins
6th best net rtg in the league
missing our 2nd best player for the home stretch

Zion carried us 99% of the way there and got hurt, and we are ready to bail now that we've seen the light switch come on?

I will not sign off on that

We'll just trade for Giannis and Luka.

Zion deserves a ton of credit for how he finished the season and the fact that he had his first full regular season.

Zion deserves zero credit for not working himself into shape until after the IST.

5 year career.

Unavailable for playoffs due to injury 4 out of 5 seasons. Unavailable in general for roughly 40-50% of his career. Multiple different injuries.

Although more specifically, it's been a leg /foot injury every time. It's clearly a forever issue.

What other stats honestly even matter?

The one and only player who showed up and gave a frick tonight, yet according to you he was the problem?

OP is part of the problem. Another brainless idiotic fan.

He wasn't the problem tonight, at least when he was on the floor, but yes the fact that our best player came into the season out of shape was a problem.

Just like our head coach and coaching staff is a problem, just like BI's fit and injuries are a problem, just like Larry taking up a roster spot is a problem.

This idea that one entity deserves 100% of the blame is dumb.

Zion was great today and has been great for the most part over the last month. Zion also needs to take his body more seriously.

All with a poor head coach making the same mistakes over and over again. The talent is there, hence the 6th best net rating, but we finished 7th in the West because of how poor they played when it counted and couldn't come from behind in the 4th quarter. Zion towards the end of this season showed his potential. My biggest concern with this injury is that he takes a step back from his conditioning and he starts next season at the same level he started this one at. Hope it isn't too serious and he is dedicated to improve his conditioning/weight.

Don't forget Jokic. We need him to fill out the band.

Now confirmed Zion would miss the entire first round.

History has shown it's not a matter of if, but a matter of when he will have a season ending injury. It just so happened this year it was the last game of this season as opposed to earlier in the season.
