Keep reading about players speaking out against starting back up and the latest I just read they are bringing up race

quote:

Yahoo Sources: Significant number of players disappointed their voice wasn’t heard in decision to restart season, and others believe black players sequestered to entertain and ease league’s economic burden amid racial tension is bad optics.

cool.
You won't get paid, and your salary decreases next year when the salary cap comes back lower than expected b/c you decided not to finish the year.
You still want to not play? Maybe we ask the guys that don't make $30M+ a year what they think about that.

Peak clown world.

So fricking dumb.

Hey you dumbass...if the league makes less money, the salary cap is much lower, and YOU make less money.

Jesus.

i have a feeling they will try. if they can wall off the world and get food to them we get playoff hoops.

the 8 games is playoff basketball for griz, sacto, Portland and pels.

the others have no shot.
aldridge is out.
phoenix too far back and needs everyone to lose. some are going to win, therefore phoenix will be eliminated after game 6 even if they are undefeated.

anyway, we get playoff ball from game1 on.

media seems to expect portland. griz play them game1.

onward.

"entertain and ease league's economic burden"? As in do their job? Jobs they get paid millions and millions of dollars to do? Jobs that literally anyone on this website would gladly accept? GTFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Everyone relax. It's a negotiation process. The NBA has been disclosing the positive aspects of the plan for week, so now its the NBPA's turn to release the negative aspects to get something in return. They'll be playing in July

Funny think is I heard that Kyrie is one of the leading forces in causing the uproar. A guy who is not even playing. Maybe it is time to just cancel the season and move on to next year.

What is frustrating is that I think the NBAPA Exec committee that made the agreement to restart is made up completely of minorities and somehow the optics are that it is a racial issue?

Before the refugee Saintard/Politards ruin this board too, just consider the possibility that you resist the nagging voice in your head telling you to melt when players use their voices.

Would amuse me if LeBsuperteam loses this year’s shot.

Since that would mean the Lakers couldn't win a title I am perfectly fine with this outcome.

I think it really matters what most of the stars want to do. If Giannis/LeBron/Luka/Harden/AD/Kawhi want to play, then we're going to have a season, and others will fall in line. If you get two guys out of that group who decide that they don't want to play, then you'd see a lot of others deciding the same thing, and any title would end up with a giant asterisk.

Yep. It'd be amazing to see the texts of the infighting that's going on between them.

I can’t imagine most players feel this way.

I saw a leak from the league saying if they players don't play there's a 100% chance the CBA gets torn up, so it does seem like classic posturing in the press.

JJ responded to a tweet saying Disney employees would allowed to leave the bubble and go home with "So not a bubble?". There are probably details like that which need to get taken care of and this is how that's done.

Kyrie Irving told NBA players on call Friday: "I don’t support going into Orlando. I’m not with the systematic racism and the bullshite. Something smells a little fishy."

0% chance.

Here's a good breakdown from Nate Jones on Twitter:

Just forget the quarantine thing. Let them come and go, sign a waiver.
