I hope he lasts till 10.

"Oakland breeds toughness, and guys who don't back down and will guard whoever," Lillard said. "So I definitely want to hold that standard so people see that I'm an Oakland guard. I've got that same fire to me as those other guards, and hopefully I'll prove myself."

I think Portland takes him at 6. Dude has been putting together some nice workouts, but I hope he falls or someone takes Marshall first.

I like Marshall because he's pass first, but if Lillard gets better vision he is much better.

The down side to Marshall is that he's pass-first because he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

The wrist and elbow injuries he's suffered haven't helped much.

If we draft him, then we need to get more offensive production out of the 3 or 5 to make up for his shortcomings.

I agree but what about Scott Machado from Iona. Average nearly a double double in points and assists. He isn't supposed to go till the 2nd round though, could trade back

Great article.
quote:

Before finishing as the country's second-leading scorer last season at 24.5 points per game, he was one of the precious few players in this AAU era who learned the lost art of offensive versatility. He had the athleticism and the size to be the dunking type, but his father, Houston, wasn't about to let the oldest of his three kids chase highlights.

"Everybody [on his youth teams] would always be dunking, and he'd be like, 'Man, why are you doing all that dunking in warmups? You need to be warming up your jumper, shooting off the glass, shooting free throws,' " Lillard said. "He was always telling me, 'You need to shoot. A lot of people can't shoot.' "

I've had a Lillard mancrush for awhile.

I feel like I keep repeating this, but a "pass-first" PG is ok for a team with multiple, varied scoring options like Boston. We have one scoring option, Gordon.

And as Teke said, he's pass-first because he's not good at shooting. And he's even worse at Defense.

Yea I agree. I don't think we should keep the #10 at all but if we do we need to get Lillard or a scoring guy

I think Monty's been talking way too much about wanting shooters and length for us to draft Marshall. I'd be really surprised if they took him.

I'm really torn. I would love for us to have Lillard but I also feel like a big Center is needed too. Hopefully we can somehow get both.

A starting 5 of:
Lillard
Gordon
Ariza
Davis
Okafor

Not too shabby if you ask me. Good balance of offense and defense.

Love Lillard but I think he will be gone by 10. Rivers is #2 on my list.

As a huge UNC fan I just don't think Marshall translates in the pros. Not very athletic and won't be able to create his own shot.

Just saw a rumor on Hoopshype that says Lillard is hearing he could go #6 to the Blazers.

Not much of a stretch to assume it.

The Blazers are set at the 2 (Matthews), 3 (Batum), and 4 (Aldridge) but have shite at the point and 5.

Their choices pretty much come down to Drummond, Lillard, trade down, or BPA at the 6.

if Lillard goes to the Blazers is there anyone at pick 7, 8, or 9 that are even considering Mr Drummond?

The only one of the three I see as a possibility is Detroit at 9.

They may want to get Drummond and develop him into a good 4 to go alongside Greg Monroe. They have so many shitty 4s right now that they can groom him for a while before putting him on the court.
