bullshite. Griffin didn't do anything other than what LeBron told him to do. He doesn't deserve another GM job

Give me Ferry before him. Who are the other two

Has consideration is coming with his work with the Nets as Assistant GM the past 2 years.

I like Langdon. His lack of experience scares the frick out of me. If we had a POBO and he was going to be GM, I would love it.

But him running the entire ship is pretty goddamned risky. Would either be a visionary hire or a total disaster.

I read a report somewhere that had Langdon matched up with Becky Hammon as GM/HC. Whoever wrote it was saying that combo would be perfect for NOLA basketball. They both have the skills to excel at their respective positions and both are hungry to prove they are not only equal to their peers but superior in many ways.

Would be a hugely bold move, like bigly... But if it worked out NOLA could be the the David to the Goliath's of the big market NBA franchises.

Not to be sexist, but is the NBA ready for a female HC? It would certainly get NOLA Basketball in the front page of NBA coverage. They would have to cover it right? and objectively for fear of backlash? One would think.

That report may have come from Fletcher. He has been pushing Hammon consistently. I saw him mention a combo of Langdon/Hammon in one of his tweets.

Hard to not pick Langdon on this badass name alone.

Surprised Fletch didn't add Avery Johnson or Joe Dumars just to push his agenda

Shouldn’t the Pelicans wait for the draft lottery first.

They get pick #1 and it may be Sam Hinkie time

that 'whoever' was also Fletch he's been pushing Becky Hammon for a long time. I'm bringing that up just so that it doesn't look like there are multiple people hearing that pairing will happen. its literally been from 1 person

however I'm actually not opposed to Hammon, I think she'd be out to prove a point knowing all eyes will be on her. That would be added motivation for her.

I have a question. When do yall think would be a good time to hire the next GM?
-as soon as we can?
-after the season?
-after the lottery?

part of me think the sooner the better than way that GM can prepare and mold the team exactly how they want it. but I do see the benefit of waiting if we get the #1 and garnering more interest from even bigger candidates

I’m all about a Ferry Langdon combo, but Ferry doesn’t want the job correct? Or at least LE said so...

Gayle has come out and said it is going to be one job. Its not going to be a POBO GM combo. Just someone in charge of the whole thing, a GM, like Morey in Houston.

I saw the quote & personally I’d prefer a multi tier option.
I’m all about keeping smart people and adding more.

Ferry by all accounts is good at this profession. I’d like to keep him and bring in a whiz kid to handle more day to day stuff...and former players from this franchise in the FO as well, to build culture..a la Spurs and Heat.

The Kings have half of the 02 core in their FO, citing “unfinished business”.

Find me guys like that to put into the organization,

Find someone without the “young vet” approach. That was a waste of a lifetime talent

Tonight at @PelicansNBA @SacramentoKings game I asked @NBA source about some of the reported names on the NOLA GM list and was told, “it’s too early in process” to pick a favorite.

That said, a lot of Pels people saying a lot of very good things about interim GM Danny Ferry.

Ferry is both a good GM and the known quantity, so it's really not surprising to hear more positive things about him than other candidates at this point. I'm sure it will come down to whoever has the best PowerPoint skills.

Someone needs to go wait outside Office Depot to see who's purchasing a binder.

I’ll give Ferry a few years just like anyone else, but man would that be anti-climactic

You think Ferry would keep Gentry or find his own guy?

ferry would be such a meh hire

i have no doubt he'd have a floor of doing a mediocre job to a ceiling of decently good. but this is a great opportunity to take a chance on someone who could be a star in the making. a chance to pump some excitement back into the fanbase. gayle should roll the dice imo.

you can make the same argument against ferry that i made earlier against zarren...familiarity bias towards existing conditions.he (ferry) would have a vested interest in okafor/kenrich/wood/etc and would likely tend towards working within an existing situation rather than starting anew

plus, he does have that perception issue especially among players. i hope he doesnt wind up the best option they have to choose from

Plus for the fanbase it gets no excitement whatsoever. It’s an internal hire for a team seen as dysfunctional and second rate.

Fair or not for Ferry, it’s the perception. They need new blood completely.
