People keep saying we got worse and less talented. Let’s say that is the case. How many of you think we will win less games next year? I don’t think we will. JV is an actual viable threat and option. Adams wasn’t at all. I think most people will say lonzo is better than NAW. But the lack of any driving ability whatsoever limited our offense and made it easier to guard us. You could crowd him more than someone like NAW because a Lonzo drive was a plus for the defense. We are leaps and bounds better on offense now. No Adams clogging the lane, no 1 dimensional and hot or ice cold Lonzo, no ball stopping inefficient nonchalant Bled. We may or may have gotten worse on defense. That is more of an unknown. But anyway defense means jack compared to offense. To win you need a certain level of defense yes but a elite defense with below average offense gets you the Knicks.

In summary, regardless if we got more talented or not, we WILL win more games next year. Book it

Fit and effort can get you pretty far

look at atlanta, miami, phoenix, etc. they got there purely because role players and star players all buy in.

Those are the same people that wanted Zion back at Duke immediately when they found out NO got the pick. Its best to ignore those

Those teams also added major talent that allowed them to make a leap. It’s the mix of talent and effort that make teams special.

Dude most Pelicans fans think Lonzo is better than NAW let alone the rest of NBA fans. Defense IS important but like I said it is way less important in today’s NBA. 2 of the top 4 defensive rated teams got slapped by the Hawks. The Clippers with 2 top 5 defensive wings couldn’t even remotely slow down Luka.
Unless rules and officiating change drastically offense will continue to rule

I’ve been seeing a lot of NAW > Lonzo takes from Pels fans this week. I don’t know what y’all are basing that opinion on though

NAW showed more potential in his handful of games he started later in the season, than Lonzo has at any point in his career. Lonzo may be the better player as of right now, but I dont think that will be the case by the end of this coming season. I think NAW is a special talent and most of the national media and fans of other teams are unaware of who he is right now. Not their fault, SVG didn't give him Bledsoe's minutes like he should have for most of the year.

I think he becomes a starter this year and that all changes. He is ready.

I've always believed Nickeil was going to be good, even when he was missing every shot he took in the first half of the season. Despite all the misses he was still playing the right way, active and disruptive on defense, and learned to play a lot more within the flow on offense, although that needs to keep improving.

NAW is a better defender (doesn’t die on every screen like Lonzo does), he isn’t afraid to drive to the basket, and I believe his shooting will be fine with a regular role (he shot 38% from 3 when he got more regular minutes post ASB). He also has shown a pretty decent lob game.

Zion, BI, and a HOT Lonzo were kind of fun to watch on offense.

With that being said, they weren’t going to win anything significant when Lonzo was Jeckyl & Hide through much of the season.

IMO, the success/trajectory of this team depends on Willie Green at this point. He has been highly praised by some of his former players, just need to see how he implements and utilizes his young star core

Those people are fricking stupid and vastly overrate Lonzo’s contribution to winning basketball games.

Yeah, those sorry arse Knicks that made the playoffs and got upset by the Hawks. It's always fun watching our fans dog other teams that have more success than us. Someone else just point out the faults of the Clippers having two elite wings. I'm glad you we can look down on all those struggling franchises..

Those teams especially miami and Phoenix have a shite load of young talent.

Trae young, bogdanovic, collins, huerter, reddish, and the 6th pick center out of UCLA.

Booker, bridges, ayton, cam johnson, and payne are all young.

Pels have zion, ingram, and nickeil. Only zion and ingram have proven themselves.

Just think if the pels had a hueter and even a cam johnson.

How are Bogdanovic and Cam Payne considered young, but Devonte isn’t? Hell Jonas is only 3 months older than Bogdan.

the new way of calling fouls when offense creates the foul meets your criterion.

no more harden and curry creating fouls.
