And the next All-Star-caliber player team personnel currently eye as available: Oklahoma City point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who's suddenly eligible to sign a projected five-year, $168 million rookie scale extension this summer. It would appear, however, any interested team would need to meet the Thunder's significant asking price. "It's going to take a f--king lot to get him, but he's no longer impossible to get," said one team executive.

That would present a categorical change in the Thunder's approach to Gilgeous-Alexander from ahead of the 2020 draft last August, sources said, when all four teams selecting within the first four picks contacted OKC about the 23-year-old and were quickly rebuffed by Thunder officials.

Flashing forward to this summer, where Oklahoma City proactively called Detroit to offer Gilgeous-Alexander plus the No. 6 pick for No. 1, sources said, in an attempt to land Cade Cunningham—the framework B/R's Jonathan Wasserman first alluded to on Monday. Since drawing the top selection in June, Detroit has consistently messaged to rival teams it would need a first in this year's draft, future draft ammo and an established young star.

I don’t know if we even have enough to get him. If we did, it would be worth it.

SGA
NAW
BI
Zion
Jonas

ETA: it would probably take Ingram and not Lonzo

Fuuuuuck

SGA is a 24/5/5 guy who shot 50/40/80 and plays above average defense.

I like Cunningham, but I feel like there's a real chance he won't be that good.

I'd dump pretty much the whole war chest for SGA. All the picks, however OKC wanted to make it work.

He's the guy you have a war chest for, and he's significantly younger than other potential targets. If he'd sign his extension, game on.

Can't do that if they want another pick in this year's draft as ammo to move up.

Could do:

17, Hayes, Kira, 22 pick, 24 pick, 24 Lakers FRP, 25 Bucks.

Two young prospects, 5 picks.

(And yes, we can do our 21 and 22 picks if we do the deal on draft night essentially after our pick).

S&T Ball for Duncan Robinson.

We are likely a tax team for the forseeable future but damn that would be a young lineup to compete.

Thunder want a top 4 pick in this draft so any deal would have to be a 3 team deal with a team in the top 4. It's going to take a lot.

Pels get SGA
OKC get 4, Kira, 3 Pels 1stRd picks and probably a swap or two
Toronto get 6, Jax, either a Laker or Buck pick from us

We can't do this, unless we are just picking a guy at 17 we hope OKC will want once we are able to do S&Ts.

The league is on teams about S&T collusion after the Kings debacle last year

It would also basically allow us to blow it up like no team has done before in 2 years if we have to. SGA and Ingram are not likely to lose value. Zion is, obviously, Zion.

Dump all the Bucks and Lakers picks, throw them Lonzo and a few of our own picks.

if Griff grows a pair, it could

You'd also have Naw and Hayes, possibly Kira, off the bench. I can't see OKC rating NAW b/c of his age.

We don't need all of those picks if we have that kind of lineup. Seriously, we couldn't even use 10 this year (and are likely trading 17).

I have us moving Hayes and Kira in that deal.

I want to keep Hayes but OKC would insist on at least him and Kira in addition to all of the picks.

I'd try and hold onto NAW just because I want he and SGA together.

Please stop bringing up Lonzo.

If OKC doesn’t think SGA is on their timeline then neither is Lonzo.

And MOST importantly, Lonzo isn’t fricking signing with OKC.

I'd rather spend the entire warcheast on SGA than sign Lowry or Dinwiddie.
