I’m going to assume BB will get retained and Sac will try to trade Buddy as he isn’t happy being 6th.

Also, if $$ are the same, would you let Let Lonzo walk put Jrue at point With NAW as the future and trade back for buddy?

Thoughts?

No. Jrue doesn't want to play point.

Pass on Buddy mainly because I dont see him happy here being a 3rd or 4th option, and we know he throws fits when he gets or is asked to come off bench.

Jrue isn't a PG.
Lonzo needs to be traded, not walk. That's the dumbest thing you could do, let him walk for nothing.
I don't want Lonzo.
I doubt NAW is the future at the PG. He's likely a good bench role player in the future, unless he makes some big strides in his decision making, which could happen, but i think he's more likely to be a off the bench role guy in his future.

I wouldn't mind getting Buddy, but i'd much rather Barnes (did you konw that Barnes is only 8 months older than Buddy, yet has been in the league for twice as long as Buddy?). If Bogdonavich gets a contract in SAC, they are going to have to do something with Buddy or Barnes either before the season starts or midseason b/c they have to pay Fox the next season, and they can't have 4 guys making $20M+/yr and still not be a playoff team.

Lonzo for Barnes, straight up, and take on the additional salary from Barnes, which would easily make us an over the cap team and allow Sac to have some extra room for Bogdonavich, then we can use the MLE and BiA in the offseason to address the post and PG position, while we draft a PG at #13. Get a guy like DJ Augustin to play the point while you continue to groom NAW and hopefully Kira Lewis or Tyrell Terry or Tyrese Maxey. I think getting DJ to come home to finish out his career would be easily attainable for us.

Our third banana needs to be a primary ball handler and facilitator, Buddy doesn't fit that mold.

If you get Buddy it's not as your #3, it's to fill the JJ role.

I really don’t get the love for buddy. Especially if you want him as a starter. Jrue at PG is a bad idea as well.

We need to replace JJ long term. Buddy could do that, although he’s a pretty pricey replacement.

His salary says otherwise, IMO.

He’s already malcontent when he’s asked to come off the bench in Sacto. I dont see that changing here.

His salary declines. $24, $22, $20, $18. It's still expensive, but not as bad as it looks at first glance.

There also is the problem that JJ would still be on the team, so what do you do with Buddy if his skill set best suits JJs role? If SVG is the coach I can't see them trading JJ.

I guess the two questions I would have would be, how do you trade for Buddy without trading away Jrue, and if you trade away Jrue, how do you trade for a 3rd banana?

Why would the Kings choose BB over Hield? Hield is younger and puts up slightly better #s.. BB is going to get pretty big money, so he isn't any cheaper..

If we move Holiday, which I don't think we will, we really don't have to pick up anybody at SG. We still have Redick and Hart, either one is a great option and can play big minutes..

Probably because Hield is trying to force his way out.

Both guys are complaining about coming off the bench. If you had to pick one, why go BB?

Again, because Hield is forcing his way out. Hield is already burning bridges with that organization.

If we move Holiday, 100% guarantee BI is moving to the 2, and we will look for a 3&D 6'6+ wing in return from the Jrue trade.

Ingram is a SF. An all star SF. He has the height, length and skills. Moving him to the SG is a net negative and we end up losing value.

Ingram replacing Holiday is possibly a slight upgrade. Who replaces Ingram at the 3? We are replacing two bordrline all stars with maybe one all star and an unknown. How are we getting better?

Beg all he wants. It would be a dumb move to shift Ingram to SG. I've mulled this over and over. There just isn't a good replacement and Ingram is a high volume producer at SF. We have 2-3 great options at SG (Holiday, Redick, Hart and maybe even NAW). We would be putting a lesser player on the floor for no reason.

We've gone through all of this before. Even Davis who refused to play Center. So we went through a ton of stiffs when we had competent PFs that could have played alongside him. Ingram could/should stay at SF..
