That's why this board went after Durant yesterday. Too many of you are just too scared to get your hopes up. You'll bash KD as "injury-prone" or say that he has a "horrendous attitude" or say that he's no good anymore or that he would kill our culture ... and you'll say those things because of your own insecurities.
Or because they're true?

Those odds are ridiculous, the Nets should definitely be higher than Miami.
IMO, the only feasible options are the Nets, Suns, and Raptors.
Sometimes teams do come out of nowhere though.

You’re overlooking Golden State. Weisman/Wiggins and picks.

The odds have actually been somewhat reliable and indicative recently. At least when you look at changes over time.
Odds market continually moved toward Paolo first overall while most pundits and media reports kept saying Jabari was close to a lock.
Now Toronto seems to be moving up the odds board aggressively even though there has been only a few trickles of info that it’s a possibility/interest. Most have been focused on Phoenix/Miami.

quote:no, they were never on the board. Not a single book has been taking bets on the pels for Durant, at least from the published odds I’ve seen
I would guess they fell off as soon as Zion signed his extension.

You think they want to do that again? I don’t think either side wants that.
ETA: the Suns are still the mostly likely option, IMO. The Heat don’t have a package that can compete with the Suns or Raptors.

Someone needs to tell Shamit to chill. He has non stop tweeted about Durant. He's on board for Zion for KD.

he’s not going to be on the right side of history here. The pels 12 is petty as shite and they won’t forget or forgive

I normally enjoy his Pels tweets but he has lost his mind over this.

Shamit has been on a legitimate Zion hate crusade for most of the year. A lot of the blog boys have been. Probably because he denied their requests for interviews all season.
Most have moved on since Zion has gotten back from Portland and has been doing mostly the right things. It seems like Shamit hasn’t for whatever reason.

What are you talking about? Anyone who's interested in the NBA is tweeting about Durant. And of course he knows that Zion's extension means that he can't be traded for Durant.
Shamit has been saying for a while that, even without including Zion or BI, the Pels can and will offer the strongest package for Kevin Durant. We can clearly outbid everyone. He's posted things like this:
quote:
Trying to tally how many firsts the Pelicans can trade
2023 LAL Swap
2023 Own
2024 MKE top 5 protected portion
2024 LAL, right to defer to 2025
2025 own
2025 MKE swap
2027 own
2027 MKE pick
2029 own
4 own picks, 3 other picks. 2 other swaps with the ability to add own swaps.
Could potentially do 6-7 picks, 5 swaps, with young players and salary. That would still be the richest offer in history.
It enough for KD? No idea. But it's a lot if Toronto doesn't have Scottie on the board.

I continue to believe that penny-pinching Sarver and the Suns will be unwilling to make the very hard decisions that they would need to make to acquire Kevin Durant.
The Heat have absolutely no way to trade for KD.
As such, Durant's likely options are going to be to either stay with the Nets or to consider other teams. That's why Windy was talking about getting Willie together with KD to pitch him.
If Toronto is not going to include Scottie Barnes in a trade, then they aren't going to have enough to persuade the Nets.

Trading all the for a 34 year old would be the NBA equivalent of the Herschel Walker trade.
Absolute insanity to trade that many picks for a 34 year old who averages 30 games a year the last three.

Shamit was not saying we should or would trade all of that. The point is how much we actually still have that we could trade.

He was though.
- Agreed with Marc Stein who had Ingram in the trade.
- On a podcast in regards to teams not wanting to give up their best asset: "He's Keving God damned Durant, what are we even talking about here?"
- "I'm riding with Willie Green... If Willie wants KD, you go get him. Everyone scared about the culture needs to put some respect on Willie Green's name"
- Did a poll about swapping Zion for KD. Then followed it with a post about teams over valuing their players. " Always. Every team, every fanbase."
-Zion offer: Zion, DG, Jax, Temple and maybe a future pick
BI offer: BI, DG, Temple, two picks
Neither: EVERYTHING
Dont feel like going back any further but that's within the last three days. He has said he thinks we could get him without giving up Zion or BI, but he is also ok giving up either.

Mason has been an absolute joke lately
He's been going on continous rants about politics or thirsting for KD.

I stand corrected. I don't mind when national guys like Zach Lowe talk about an Ingram for Durant trade, because it makes sense on paper.
But Shamit should know that doing that would wreck everything that's been built here. Zach Lowe probably doesn't know about BI buying a bunch of tickets at a Knicks game so that Jose's family and friends could see him in action in his first game in New York ... but Shamit does know that, and about a lot of the other stuff that BI has done and has meant to the team in his time here.
When you really have a family, you can't trade the leader of the family, which is what BI is in many ways. It was hard enough for the team to see Hart and NAW leave, though I think everyone knew that was necessary.
