Maybe that's a good idea. Because zion's first meal was definitely not Chipotle and see how he turned out

Zion was actually in great shape before we decided to play him in a non televised last game of rookie preseason (except via Pels.com) stream and he tore his knee.

Something that doesn’t get much run on here. That was a dumb organizational decision considering he had already dominated the other 4 preseason games.

Still contend that that knee was torn when his foot blew out of his shoe at Duke

I’m not sure about all of that because his head was still on the rim even when he was large in summer league and in preseason when he was slimmed down.

Lonzo threw him a 90 foot lob against San Antonio (last preseason game) and he landed funny on that play.

Not many saw it bc it was on a stream. Not even sure if there is a highlight of it. But to me, that’s when that injury happened.

Somebody get him to Juan’s if he likes burritos.

More authentic than going to Acme's or some other tourist trap place in the Quarter.

If it was an authentic New Orleans experience, he would have gotten harassed by panhandlers or gotten hustles over where he got his shoes.

Surprised he didn't go to Outback Steakhouse.

Pretty sure I remember reading Griff, in all his weirdness, took 19 year old Zion and his family(including young brother) to Commanders Palace for his first NOLA meal. Where the brother got like chicken fingers and Zion got fried fish or something.

Not knocking Commanders, but it wouldn't be the first place I'd take a 19 year old to show him New Orleans.

Come on brotha. He had an obviously awkward landing on a 90 foot lob Dunk. Checks out of the game shortly after. And then we get Meniscus news a week later. It’s not all that difficult to pinpoint.

To be fair, it was a family meal. His parents were there too. Benson was probably there.

Griff is really weird, but I’m not adding having Zion eat at an iconic restaurant in a safe part of New Orleans to the weird column.

Where exactly were they supposed to go? I’m curious.

CSB, I was at Austin’s Steakhouse in Metairie a few years back and Mickey Loomis and Co were eating there with newly signed Adrian Peterson.

I was thinking about that yesterday when the clips of him dunking on kids was posted.

I can only imagine what we would have if he never had that knee injury, b/c the Great Value Brand version of Zion we have dominated the NBA for 3/4 of a year being overweight without the explosiveness he had before the knee injury.

That had to be Peterson’s choice. I used to date a chick that worked at Emeril’s and told me of numerous stories of how they always had Loomis and CSP dining up a free agent or draft pick at their spot. Like it was their go to or something.

Looked it up out of curiosity. Here's the highlights of that game, last ones of Zion before the meniscus injury.

Dunk at 5:05 seems like the one in question.
