Dyson Daniels offense and Nance were really bad last night

IMO, these are the two reasons we lost last night.

Daniels D was awesome but he missed so many wide open 3s. His form looks decent but he couldn't knock any down.

That upsets me less than the one play where he gets a beautiful steal and then does the weakest finish at the rim ever and lets some g league dude block him from behind.

What's his problem just dunking the damn ball? If he's going to ever be more than just a Thybulle type guy, he really needs to improve his 3 point percentage and learn to dunk when he's all alone.

Nance was terrible. He brings nothing to the offense anymore and is too small/slow to box out.

Zeller on the other hand, played great. He's a much better player at this point and Nance needs to sit.

It’s interesting how much we want to analyze and pinpoint who screwed up the most. I don’t disagree about Dyson’s shot last night, but I wouldn’t go so far on Nance.
Crap, we lost a game. That happens in the NBA. Rarely can you narrow it down to a single individual( or even two).

Zeller looking like a better option up front is very troubling.

Admin needs to whack all the stupid Dyson threads. He’s gonna be nailed to the bench come playoff time.

Yeah because if we're being honest, this bench is terrible when Hawkins isn't apart of it and Dyson has to start.

Dyson Hawkins and Trey are going to be in the 8 man rotation in the playoffs and the only players off the bench. Guys like Naji Jose and Larry can play well in small samples, and maybe Jose just needs his legs back, but Jesus, they all look worse this year.

Can’t shoot 3-14 and turn the ball over 5 times. Not conducive to protecting a lead on the road

We can live with the offensive growing pains but ya gotta protect the basketball

The Pels were missing 3 of their top 4-5 players and they have enough size to be a bad matchup for JV and keep him from stepping up. So now you're down 4 of your top 5 offensive players plus Matt Ryan. I'm more disappointed that they didn't get more stops in the 4th when Utah scored 37 points than they couldn't score a bucket with Ingram and Hawkins as the only threats on the floor. Play better defense and you hold the lead.

I don't understand how we always lose to Utah. They were without fricking Lauri and Clarkson. Unacceptable loss IMO.

Utah was missing several guys as well. We lost to a team that started freaking Omer Yurtseven, Kris Dunn and Simon Fontecchio. No excuse to lose last night and it’s ok be to pissed about it.

I wasn't making an excuse, I'm saying it's dumb to be mad at defensively skewed players for not being better on offense. The Pels still scored 23 points in the 4th which should be good enough offense. Giving up 37 to a team missing it's top 2 offensive weapons was not good enough.

I can live with Dyson having a terrible night offensively. He’s young and affects so many other areas of the game. Nance is a 30 yo vet and has basically been doing cardio this whole season. We need to turn him and Kira into another playable big at the deadline. I want Gafford but would also love olynyk

Might wanna reconsider on the "Thybulle type" guy. Since the trade from 76ers to Blazers last year, I've been saying Thybulle is about to become a "much wanted" piece, for just about any team that is currently a serious playoff contender. Mavs proved this by offering him a 3 yr/$33M deal as a RFA, with a player option for 3rd year. They wanted this guy...BAD. Blazers immediately matched the offer...which most think was waaay too much at the time.

He's a strong up & comer...the type guy you wanna get before others figure out just how valuable he's gonna be before long. FWIW: I don' think the Blazers will keep Thybulle for long...they are rebuilding & he's the type player only a serious "win now" contender would want. They look at Thybulle as excellent trade bait...and should move him for serious young talent before long.

Mavs were very disappointed when Blazers matched. As a Pels fan, I'm elated that Thybulle didn't go to the Mavs.

Dyson should of not been in the game at the end and we were down.
Jose should have actually remained in the game... He was shooting well.

Not really a Nance fan.

I feel like the Pelicans need to consolidate him, Lewis, Zeller, and some picks for a better player.

Guys like Dyson and Naji aren’t high usage guys. They’re more times than not gonna struggle hard if they’re taking so many shots. We need our starters back asap plus Trey

Nance shouldn’t be playing until he’s 100% healthy. If he’s 100% healthy then he needs to be traded

Naji is too inconsistent to be a rotational player when we are full strength can’t shoot plays decent defense but last night he couldn’t even get back on a fast break to stop a layup just he can’t be counted on

Between sitting Herb for too long and doing a poor job of getting Hawkins open for shots in the second half, Utah left Dyson open all night wanting him to take the shot. Unfortunately, that was not the best option to continue to shoot it even if it was a wide open look. Dyson should never be asked to take that many shots when he's struggling.
