Place for all draft rumors regardless of the source.

The Pelicans have engaged in discussions with Philadelphia in hopes of acquiring Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor, source tells @jonjohnsonwip.

From JD Shaw of defpen, whatever that is.

The article I read on it said part of Philly's exploration of this angle was they didn't think Boston was sincere in their trade efforts which seemed like a weird statement, almost telegraphing we're just throwing this out there for Boston's benefit. Keep in mind that Demps has won 2 trades with Colangelo in the past. Juju for Belinelli and then Bayless for Jack. On it's own Bayless/Jack was probably a fair enough swap, but on top of that they did us the solid of turning Peja's contract into smaller contracts so the team could make payroll. Seriously they ate extra money seemingly as a favor about a month before the league was forced to step in and take over the team.

Sources: Bucks are shopping Greg Monroe hard. He's owed $17.1 million next season and has a $17.8 million player option for 2017-18 season.

I'm just curious - Boston, Minny, PHX, and Sacto are all exploring offers to see what their picks can fetch. Are all those GM's done too?

I can't say this enough - the dumb GM is afraid to make the best move for today because it looks too much like a failed move from the past. It's like the entreprenuer who is scared to invest in the next thing because he is scarred by a past failure. The best entrepreneurs fail over and over before they succeed

You do what you think is best. You limit no possibilities. You look forward, not backwards. If they can get the RIGHT trade, they should do it. The people blindly saying no to any trade are the foolish ones IMO. Evaluate every opportunity. Don't limit your options

I'm not blindly saying no to any trade. I'm saying no because I want a freaking pick for once. Trade the 17' pick and i'm all for it. It seems to be more valuable as they seem to be raving about that draft class anyway.

I'm actually very pro trade. In this situation i'm not. I'd actually be fine with Oakafor, not so much Nerlins.

And why do you have faith in him drafting, then? I would argue his trades have been better than his picks

how would you know what his drafting capabilities are when the sample size is so small?

If Philly takes Asik sign me up as it will take us losing a pick to dump him anyway.

So we are going to trade another first round pick for Nerlens Noel who we traded away in the first place? Dell Demps needs a mental institution.

I like Okafor in the right circumstances but dont see him in Gentry's supposed "up tempo system." we need guards.
