Actually Calipari said it (did not come directly from Murray).

OK, well, here’s what I would say. [Wolves president of basketball operations and coach Tom Thibodeau] and I are great friends. He helped my career, helped me basketball-wise and every other way. I’m a big fan of Thibs. Jamal? I’m saying this to you and no one else. He loves Minnesota. As a matter of fact, that’s where he’d like to go.

Apparently he's begging for Timberwolves to pick him. That tells me that he really doesn't want to come here.
Him wanting to play in Minny does not mean he doesnt want to play for us. Do you have anything more direct than that or just that assumption?
I mean I dont care that much because I'd rather other players but this seems like a reach.

I saw someone on Twitter say "begging". Brett Dawson said we aren't that interested in Murray anyway. He said our main interests are Dunn, Hield, and bender

I would want to play there too. They have a promising team.

Meh, sounds like he wants to be coached by someone he's close to. I get that. I'd rather those other guys or even the trade.

Thibs just said in an interview that they have evaluated the draft class for premium shooting, toughness, and work ethic. Looks like it's Buddy. Damn it

Sure.
Do you think Benson/Loomis will actually allow that to happen? After 3 years of short-sighted moves, call me skeptical.

I think Ferry being officially brought on board is pretty significant. Do you think Loomis wanted Demps to get an advisor so he could be more involved and have to provide more oversight? As much as we like to assume there's a Win Now directive, what if the directive is only "get better, not worse". Yeah that keeps you from a full strip down, but that doesn't have to mean you do stupid, future sacrificing things.

I'd wait until after free agency before going full pessimist.
As long as AD is on the team and we have some cap space, I'm going to have some hope.

Are we sure Loomis wanted/suggested/ordered Demps to have another advisor?
Regardless, they signed off on paying for Ferry. Superstar is right about waiting to see how things shake out this summer. Brining in Ferry was a good move.
Largely because of that, I'm hopeful they don't cash in future for present again, but I'll call it a cautious optimism.
"Get better, not worse" can have the same issues as "win now"
When do they need to get better and what does that better look like?
Does that mean you have the freedom to take a Bender over, say, a Hield?

If Buddy is there when Pels pick and they don't take him, I'll be disappointed.

I've been talking to a couple of pelican writers and they all are saying the same thing so it's starting to gain some legs. They all say that if Dunn is there. He is the pick. If Dunn is gone, Hield is the pick over anybody else.

I would be on board with that

Suns have offered 4 and 13 for Gordon Hayward.
Celtics trying to sell 3 and Bradley for Butler or Hayward

Is it even remotely possible for the Pels to land G. Hayward? What I'm most impressed with is the man's bball I.Q.
