also interesting note: Pels have same chance of getting a top 4 pick as NYK getting the 1st pick.

I think the Knicks #1 pick is most enticing & probably the best piece that anyone will be willing to move given the circumstances.
Agreed.
But you also have perfect leverage with Boston if the Knicks are involved.
They risk losing Kyrie AND not getting AD, so Ainge has amassed all of these assets and never pulled the trigger. He's got to make a move.

I don’t disagree but a lot of things need to happen for it to align

I'd be shocked if the Lakers didn't make a strong pursuit of KD or Kawhi in free agency if they don't pull off a trade for AD. Magic knows that he has a short window and can't waste an entire season at Lebron's age.

I still feel like Tatum isn’t a given in any deal with Boston. In my mind I keep seeing a Jaylen brown & picks centered deal
yeah I do worry once we pass the deadline the Celtics pull him from the table. Do they have cap room to bring in a third guy to go along with AD ad Kyrie? I'd think they'd prefer a big 3 of AD, Kyrie, and Tatum.

which is why New York getting the number one or two pick is crucial to a bidding war

That seems to be the prevailing thought. Can Ainge even predict the next opportunity to come along for someone the caliber of Davis? Throw in the fact that Davis may very well = Kyrie for Boston, and people seem to think it's a no brainer to try to take this shot.

Knicks pick can go no lower than top 5, assuming they hold on to having the worst record....
lets look at assumption.
Knicks 10 wins
Cavs and suns 11 wins
12 wins for bulls, team 4.
1. Knicks just got better in trade.
2. Just randomly any of those 4 wins ball #1.
I don't get all the ad to Knicks chatter.
Any of those 4 has same shot at Zion.

That, and they need to get a commitment from AD to play there. They also have the option of signing 2 other max players & trading the pick for a 3rd cheaper option or options

Trade Niko/Moore for Brown/Picks now. Trade AD for Tatum/Smart in June. I think MM said it wouldn’t be allowed if it looked like it was part of a bigger deal that can’t legally happen now, but Niko/Moore is enough value to look like a separate stand alone trade. If you could get that by the league then that puts much of the risk and trust on Boston.

Thats not the stuff they are working on. They are working on Boston doing packages now where they send out guys to another team and that team gives Boston a player. Then, that guys is in the trade in July.
Example - Rozier and Clips pick to Orlando for Jonathan Issac. Then, in July its Smart, Tatum, Issac, 3-4 picks.

Woj says on his podcast there is a lot of “wishful thinking” that Kyrie is in play. Adds that Irving has been clear "in recent weeks, in recent days” that he remains committed to the Celtics.

I wonder if the Paul/Bron/Magic play was hoping we would panic and take what we can get or just plain arrogance.
Maybe both

Mike
Why would a new Pels GM honor this trade agreement with Boston? Are you implying Dell will be the GM next season?
