I was really impressed with Dyson defense he made some really good plays on that end.

3 steals and 2 blocks. Never really allowed anyone in the paint. I dont think he is done growing either. 19 years old.

Always had his head on a swivel making the right plays. Even small things like boxing out. That’s actual defense. Until you have the ball you are playing defense

Man...if Trey becomes the defender he has potential to be...nobody will score on our second unit

Yeah Dyson already does the little things. Roty odds +3300 or something like that.

Mocha Herb really needs to stick. Wow, that is great.

His offense is rough, but all he needs to do there until he gets better is play within himself. If he’s playing with Jaxson and/or Zion then his missed layups will become Kobe assists.

Not worried. Half of his shots came when the gleague squad was in the game. I don’t expect him to take too many shots when he’s in the game with our quality rotational players.

He legit protected the rim from the guard position. Unreal. Has a ways to go from a scoring prospective but his defense was exactly what I saw in his film coming in

He just needs to hit 35-37 % from 3 and finish well around the rim. Not asking much and he’ll be a fantastic player

I was super high on him for the draft. Finally had someone drop to us that shouldn’t have. He just needs to concentrate on his shot .

I think we got a steal in him. I wouldn't expect anyone to shoot amazing in their first "NBA game". He showed the defensive stuff I wanted to see.

Yeah, he’s currently in the middle of working with Fred, the team probably doesn’t want him taking to many shots until the shot master has put him through his 30 week shot class

Just like herb last year, dysons offense is shaky. But being a strong defensive guy will earn you minutes while you hone your offensive game

Offensively, he reminded me a lot of watching NAW, with great ability to get to the rim, but with poor finishing there. But, yeah, we're a great offensive rebounding team, so his poor finishing isn't as big of a problem for us as it would be for other teams.

But he already looks like an elite defender. Holy cow was he good on that end.

I agree in terms of outcome, but to me the BIG difference is Dyson is not irrationally overconfident about it.

Most of what he shot came in the flow of the offense and gave off vibes of him just taking shots in pre-season he wants to get practice with knowing he has a ways to go, not that he thinks he is James Harden 2.0

Basically, the mental side comes off totally different and as a result I really like his chances of actually progressing offensively.

Not to mention NAW had no real interest in working with Vinson, he just thought he needed to keep shooting the same shots that werent ever consistently working for him.

Not trying to jack this thread, but is Herb okay after his injury last night? I saw somewhere it was a rib injury. (I thought he just got kneed in the balls).
