Giannis Antetokounmpo in his year 21 season.
Ingram in his 21 season.
Ingram in his 21 season.

You kinda proved our point with that one. Giannis has those numbers with a low usage, assisted the ball more, turned it over less, played great defense and got to the rim at will.
Ingram is a great athlete with potential but I see more Andrew Wiggins in him than Simmons it Giannis. Look at Wiggins’ line at 21:
23/4/2.3 shooting 45/35/76. That’s way better than Ingram numbers. But the advanced stats showed us they were empty. Very high usage with a low assist rate and bad defense lead to a below league average player, which is exactly where Ingram is now.

Their usage % is identical st the same age
I’m not saying he’s going to turn into Giannis
But he will get better. And I’d bet a lot he turns into a 38%ish 3pt guy

He very well might, he shot 39% last year but still had all the same problems. And you’re going to have to pay him next year. I don’t wanna be left holding the bag on a guy who had a lot of obvious red flags.

Those guys are good enough to miss the playoffs every year
It’s a team of 3 and fourth options.

Some of the takes in the thread are hilarious.
And I think if Philly calls the Pels and offers Simmons, Griffin hangs up laughing to himself.
To be perfectly honest, long term I think I take BI over Tatum now too. The passing upside and ability to facilitate is too tantalizing.
BI still hasn’t hit his physical peak.

Tatum is incredible. Both of their ceilings are top 10 players in the league

Just waking up and half asleep. I. was looking at this thread like wtf are they bashing BI for. Then noticed the date lol

Wow what a bump.
Most of this board was just dead wrong about BI (myself included) when we initially heard he would be part of any laker package

But is he good enough to warrant a max or near max that he will require in a year?
The Lakers assets put us on the 10th-8th place treadmill. We will become the post melo nuggets with that deal.
Kill me for ever doubting brandon

my main concern was that he would auto-demand the max, which he didn't, so i was very wrong as well. i wanted him to prove it and he did last year and wasn't even a dick about it when it came to re-signing
*ETA: also this was from January 2019. a lot of leeway was granted to the Pellies a couple months later. very few people were questioning the Ingram/Ball haul once we won the lottery for Zion
