Correct but we got no one behind him who would be remotely as good or not good as CJ has been the past month or so while injured.

I think we have many fairly huge problems with this Pels team. However, given the circumstances, I do NOT consider CJ to be one of those problems. JMO...

Im on record believing that CJ is miscast as a lead guard, but no doubt he's an elite bucket getter and a Pro’s Pro.

Agree. Dont' really blame CJ for our recent problems and I give him credit for playing through an injury.

But he's miscast as a lead guard, especially with a bum hand. He's a natural scorer and Pels should move him back off ball and run sets for him to catch-and-shoot and work off pin down action, flare screens, etc...He's a good scorer.

As a lead his tendency to go Iso-Joe and pound the ball instead of initiating the offense is part of the reason our offense is sputtering. He's not a bad passer but at this point his instincts are honed for scoring. Too late to remake himself.

Get a real lead guard on the floor and let him get the ball to CJ, Brandon and Jonas on their spots on the floor.

He’s not cast as a lead guard. Zion is our lead ball handler. Point Ingram would probably be more of a thing if he could stay on the court longer than a few games at a time. And no one else on the team can do it other than maybe Jose, who is hurt.

He’s the stand in of the stand in.

He’s been playing hurt for 2 months to set an example for his teammates while the other 2 have been out of the lineup. He’s leading by example.

We have sucked in no small part because CJ has sucked post injury. Sometimes toughing it out is stupid.

This team has a lot of fricking issues, but CJ most certainly isn't one of them.

Don't you dare say anything against CJ on this board. Posters will challenge your basketball IQ.
CJ is streaky and takes dumb shots.

CJ is not to blame for this mess of a season. With that said, I do think it's fair to question the roster construction of BI & CJ who have very similar offensive games. Having two players that rely heavily on the midrange game is a questionable decision in the modern NBA.

I don't blame him for this seasons' downward spiral. The entire team gets the blame. I don't think CJ is a bad player; however, his shot selection at times is horrible. And he can be a turnover machine.

Agreed he hasn't been good since the injury. but it would only be stupid if we had viable options behind him.

I see no one who could fill his role and play as "good" as he has even when not playing well by his standards, so he's our best option and should be commended for playing through injury, which can be done while also recognizing, as you said, he hasn't played well

Well shite, we got a half of an entire roster that are turnover machines if that's the case.

Who else is a turnover machine for us do you think?

You can’t actually believe Kira or Dyson playing instead of CJ is going to help us be better. My God.

Got a point there, I can usually point to Ingram’s turnovers to determine his impact on games and it’s been spotty at best. Zion overcomes some of his turnover deficiencies by being so efficient at the rim but he’s prone to giving the ball up too, particularly from on ball pressure. CJ turns the ball over significantly less than BI or Zion but doesn’t see the court as well as BI or have the gravity of Zion. For CJ, as well as the rest of the team, it’s the lackadaisical and mindless turnovers that aggravate.

Legitimately over half our rotation is more turnover prone than CJ. CJ is our lead ball handler and has the ball in his hands more than anyone else and still turns the ball over less than, as I said, about half our rotation.

And yet there is no question that people on this board complain more about CJ turnovers than every other player on our team's turnovers combined.

Nance and Trey and now Richardson are the only 3 players in our regular rotation who have a lower turnover % than CJ.

Too many folks don't really understand what they're watching, and that is totally ok. The problem is they speak on it like their experts when they're just flat wrong about things...the CJ turnover example above being a perfect example.

Kira and Dyson don't make CJ money. CJ is not a good guard. CJ has to shoot alot of shots because he is so inconsistent, its the only way he can score double figures. Believe that.
