He’s playing with a broken thumb. Did you forget what he did during the Dallas game? Plus he’s been available compared to our other players. He’s supposed to be the #3 option, not 1 or 2. Which he is doing now

The CJ hate on here is almost as bizarre as the collapse of the team itself. He was absolutely killer before his hand injury, and even now his season numbers are pretty much in line with his career along with a career high in APG. He's a major piece for any sort of contender we would want to build. Just needs his superstar teammate to actually see the court.

He’s been playing hurt for 2 months to set an example for his teammates while the other 2 have been out of the lineup.

He’s leading by example.

Some of y’all forget that.

He was brought in to be the 3rd and some nights 4th option and we’ve been playing him as the 1st or 2nd option most of the season. I can never hate on a guy that’s on the court giving it his all.

This and he is playing hurt. And im someone who thought the CJ extension was dumb. He is hurt and the only one of our big 3 to play most of the season. He is supposed to be our 3rd guy

CJ is not our problem! IMO, he's the most consistant player on the team. BI is a keeper, but he needs to get tougher and play through some pain. Herb is a baller...but he won't be lightenin' em up on offense.
We need better coaching and better shooters. Zion is a bust so we need to wean ourselves from the heights we imagined him reaching with this team.

I have been saying that since day 1. But people want to blame covid, hurt thumb. CJ is too inconsistent and he doesn't play Defense. SMH. Blame Willie don't blame CJ.

Sometime’s playing hurt is a worse option than a backup playing healthy. CJ has had some incredibly bad games in this bad stretch, and even if he’s hurt, if him being horrible is a worse option than Dyson or Kira at full health, then is it really an admirable thing he’s doing by sucking while hurt?

CJ McCollum is not the problem. He had a rocky start this year, but blaming CJ for this season just shows how little someone knows about basketball. He’s been the ideal teammate (someone who plays the role asked of him and a steadying hand) since that SAS end of the first half debacle.

And, you know, he’s actually on the court.

Can you explain why he shot poorly when it was confimred he had a hand injury, then he played really well when it was healed, now he's shooting poorly since the hand brace came out?

Correct but we got no one behind him who would be remotely as good or not good as CJ has been the past month or so while injured.

It's certainly not a worse option than Dyson or Kira.

Maybe not, but again, that is not in play here. It is admirable because he is our best option right now.

Feel like this is a classic case of fans misplacing anger at a player personally because of a team’s failure.

CJ isn’t a Kevin Durant difference maker, but he’s a quality vet, a good leader, and absolutely could be the third best player on a title contender.

The extension he signed was a risky move by the team, but that’s not the fault of CJ. Nor is it the fault of CJ that the two best players on this roster have been MIA this year.

I’ll never dislike CJ as a player because, you know, he actually plays for us. At the same time, his contract is a bad contract for this team going forward if there aren’t two players better than him on the roster.
