The same ones constantly whining about Zion and making fat jokes will whine even harder if we trade him at an all time low value and he gets healthier and dominates the league for another franchise. He showed that he cares by doing what it took to lose a lot of weight and get in better shape this past offseason. I’m sure he will do whatever it takes again this time to avoid reinjuring his hamstring. He by far played with the most intensity out of everyone and carried this team the first half of the season. Keeping him and hoping he continues to do his part to limit injuries is the only way this franchise has a chance at being a contender over the next few years.

But he's miscast as a lead guard, especially with a bum hand. He's a natural scorer and Pels should move him back off ball and run sets for him to catch-and-shoot and work off pin down action, flare screens, etc...He's a good scorer.
As a lead his tendency to go Iso-Joe and pound the ball instead of initiating the offense is part of the reason our offense is sputtering. He's not a bad passer but at this point his instincts are honed for scoring. Too late to remake himself.

Techchampion140. With all due respect, it's been said that the Pelicans have a deep team, so why do we need CJ forcing himself to play. You have a first round pick sitting on the bench, you have Kira Lewis sitting on the bench. You are only a deep team if your guys actually play.
