CJ drives me nuts but seeing this photo puts some things into perspective.

Hes been playing like shite every other game then I saw this.

Thats legit the same brace Drew wore when he tore his thumb ligament.

I think CJ is playing with 9 fingers right now which would explain a few things. Maybe not the dumbass TO's but the shooting for sure.

The thumb is so damn important to get a feel on the ball, to stabilize the ball for one handed passes, to get power into a 2 handed pass, not to mention shooting and not adjusting form even subconsciously.

He can hit shots consistently with the thumb if he has time to shoot. But trying to be a scorer off the bounce and in bunches is just hard with that.

Simply, other guys have to step up more and when Zion comes back everything changes for CJ and the team

I thought this was common knowledge.

Have we not noticed the tape on the thumb in the game? I mean, he pulled himself out of the 3-point contest because of his thumb.

The CJ slander on this board is ridiculous. He's one of the few guys we have playing hurt and even with the bad thumb, he still has to put shots up because this roster has no other outside offense otherwise.

We're lucky to have CJ. Dude is the only alpha on our team.

Zion would be out 3 months with this injury while 31 year old CJ is playing through the pain like a champ. Yeah he has some off games but at least he plays games

Zion’s problem isn’t an unwillingness to play banged up though. As his first major rift with the organization came from the team controlling his minute load more than he felt necessary and holding him out of games. Potentially pushing too hard with his activity on his healing foot. It’s that he actually gets injured to the point you can’t play him at all.

Maybe true, in fact probably true, but it seemed hella convenient those reports didn't leak until the fans and media started to voice their issues with him.

People are never going to be rational when it comes to Zion and injuries. He’s at least partially responsible by not taking his health more seriously, and fans feel robbed of success that we should have been having the last 4 years.

He’s never going to prevent all injury, but laughing at CJ for stretching the day after he pulled his hamstring highlights that Zion isn’t doing everything he can do to hold up his end of things. I hope they shove that in his face over and over until he understands this isn’t a game he’s playing. He’s a well paid elite athlete that can dominate the league for the next 10-15 years, or he can be out of the league in 5 years.

I always forget CJ is just 31. Feels like he’s like 34. At 31 with the way he plays there’s no reason he can’t play at a high level for another half decade or so.

Zion played through a broken finger his second season until we were out of the playoff race, and that’s when they shut him down.

He will play through injury if it’s possible for him to.

Guy is putting up 21/6 for a playoff contending team with injuries to our best players and our board complains. 0 basketball IQ.

Lebron/Curry cant even carry a team in the NBA by themselves let alone CJ.

Yes, Zion actually has shown that he has a very high pain tolerance.

Asked about a right thumb injury he's playing through, CJ McCollum said "it's not ideal." "I’m playing. I have to be better, and I will be better. I understand what’s at stake for us. What’s at stake for our seeding. And how these next few games are going to define our season.”

I’m willing to bet it’s literally a UCL they are not disclosing

This leads me to believe it will not get better and thus, CJ may not get back to his usual self. Not good.

Sounds like a scenario where, if we weren't still in playoff positioning, they'd shut him down now for surgery.

Assuming Zion isn't coming back anytime soon, I'd rather CJ just get the surgery now and be fully healed by next season, instead of waiting until the offseason.
