Woj said they're planning to rehaul their roster around Dame. But I have to imagine he's not gonna want to be bad for long so they'll have to move quickly to do that.

I went from 6 to noon:

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, McCollum is one of just five players to average at least 20 points per game in each of the past seven seasons (min. 30 games played each year) joining LeBron James, Anthony Davis, James Harden and DeMar DeRozan.

In the past five seasons, according to Second Spectrum data, McCollum has made 1,083 off-the-dribble jumpers, which is the fourth most in the league over that span. This season, the Pelicans rank 29th in the league in off-the-dribble made jumpers and last in off-the-dribble jump shot field goal percentage.

Am I missing something? Or is this a ridiculously good deal for the Pels?

My guess is that Portland plans do one last roster construction around Dame. They are going to be players in free agency this year. It'll be interesting to see if they can actually land a big time player. That's basically their Hail Mary now.

If there ever was a time for not fat Zion to show up and save the day, today is that day. Imagine the buzz of the ascending Pels working their way up the standings with Duke era Zion straight owning fools.

Point Zion with CJ and BI on the wings, while Herb slashes and Hayes rim runs ... holy shite

My understanding is this deal is not yet done. There is a possibility a third team could get looped in prior to Thursday's trade deadline. Either way, McCollum is New Orleans-bound.

This team has been a joy to watch this year. Losing Josh as a person to get better on the court just sucks and feels a little dirty.

THIS but everyone knew it was coming the second he signed his deal. Maybe they don’t extend and Hart comes back!!!

I think you can safely assume Jose will be #14.

where is the projection for the tax line? i've tried to find it but all i see is it's $140M but i know i've heard it is likely going to be much higher than that.

edit
We have 3 2nd round picks. the Sacramento one is not going to convey. So we have our own, Clevelands and Utahs. We once thought those Cavs 2nds would be like late 1sts. Regardless, we should be able to use two of them to move up to around 40 and hope for the best.
and i assumed we are giving Charlotte our 1st, so we aren't giving up a our 2nd this year which is what would happen if we fell inside the top 14 this year, even though that would be ideal since that would mean we keep our 23 pick, but if we convey 22 to Charlotte this year, then this one going to Portland becomes our 23 pick. but who cares.
