Max offer. 2013. Chris Paul, come on home

Taking injury history into consideration, I prefer D-Will over CP3.

True that but EG is fricking terrible GM. Just so mediocre. He traded away Ricky Rubio for Mike Miller and Randy Foye. Its unbelievable this idiot still has a job after the past four seasons.

Zach Lowe ?@ZachLowe_SI I've got NOH '13 payroll, assuming Shard buyout, at about $46.5M w/ Gordon cap hold. Not enough for max offer to D-Will, unless I'm off.

but apparently if we amnesty Jack, it will put us close to being able to offer him a max contract.

I don't want to amnesty jack so we can offer him max.

Just for him to turn it down

If we dont buy him out I'd think our cap would be around the same as before but Lewis' value would shoot up around the trade deadline because he is expiring.

This is not as true as it used to be. Kaman should have been a valuable chip last year, but there were no takers. Also, having to match salaries will make it hard to get decent value out of it.

So what are we feeling about trading the 10 pick for Jennings?

I don't want Jennings, but is that still out there?

I mean I don't think he will but there's no reason to say it like you know. He's not in the CP/LeBron/Wade cult and I don't think he needs a big market. With Gordon, Davis, Monty, and Demps on board, I think New Orleans will start to look like a favorable destination. Again, I don't think he will come here.

Payroll will be at $46.5 million in '13 with Lewis buyout. Not enough for max offer, per Zach Lowe of SI

Ah, I didn't think that'd be an issue but I don't keep up with the financial side of the NBA.
