hornets247.com ?@hornets247
And remember, Okafor still has to pass the physical for this to go through. Don't assume that is a given after his problems last year

why they gotta say that shite?

he also added that if the hornets amnesty Jack, it would put the team very close to being able to. another move, possibly, to cut a bit more space, and it could happen.

Why use amnesty on Jack and his $4.5m salary?

I still feel we could get a late 1st or early 2nd for him, which would still leave us with a shite-ton of cap space.

I just read through the whole thread and I don't think this was asked. Amnestying Oak, and trading ariza for a smaller expiring and a second round pick would have been better financially, no?

See, I thought the same thing initially. the only sense I can make of it is that we are trying to make moves soon, and we took what we could get right now.

Bingo.

A Davis is a Winner, and wants to Win. If we frick around with him for a couple years and dont make a push to surround him with talent now, he WILL bolt as soon as he gets the chance.

You cannot sit around and do nothing with a talent like this. The Hornets time is NOW.

I'm fricking pumped!!!!

If Drew would've signed today, that would've made this even more awesome!

Plus I think they've been actively shopping Ariza for a while, even last season, and maybe couldn't get anything better than the 2nd rd pick.

Name a player in the 8-12mil expiring contract range that their team would give it up AND a 2nd for Ariza...

We're eating the extra few million over Meks amnesty value to get it done.
This had to be the only, so BEST offer on the table.

Anyone know what the waiting period is before we can trade Lewis? I'm just wondering if Drummond falls, can the Hornets trade Lewis and the 10th to move up?

No team would be able to take on his contract and no team would see Lewis as someone they would trade back for.

To me, waiving him prior to July 1st, means its likely before the draft.

I'm starting to wonder if this brings Tony Wroten back in play in the 2nd.

How would you feel about trading Jack and the #10 pick to move up for Drummond?

would any team even do that?
