not many teams can absorb that contract. It makes more sense to wait until the trade deadline and pick up some solid pieces on the cheap for the expiring. Hell, we may even squeeze out another pick!

Not just that, but we will be pretty entertaining to follow and watch. A young, energetic team with lots of cap space but not quite good enough to get into playoffs.

So let me get this straight. We dump okafor and Rashard's contract wont be on the books? Mother fricking win.
I will miss Ariza though. He is a very solid contributor and has playoff experience. But it's still worth it.

This is all great news if other pieces fall into place...
Possibilities/Must haves
-Now we can expect Gordon to be offered a max deal
-We can resign Kaman to something reasonable since he still is a good 5
-Possibly pick up a semi big to big name in FA
We have an unbelievably large hole at the 3 right now because Aminu is not worth starting on ay franchise right now

If we dump Lewis, his buyout (roughly $13.7 million) will be on our books for the year, I think. But that's better than the $22 million that would be there.
If we keep him, huge trade bait come mid-season.
