I understand we dumped two big salaries, but how is this good for the Hornets? I still think Okafor is decent when healthy. Is this basically to ensure that we can match any offer for Eric Gordon?

It gives Demps flexibility to build this team any way he wants, and to start doing so ASAP if he sees the chance.

Otherwise we really had to wait until (at least) next year's trade deadline which is 1.5 seasons of basketball away.

All the Uptown yoga studios and mani/pedi shops will miss Emeka's gay arse, that's for sure.

Yeah I had a girl in my office who likes Ariza email me and ask me to explain this to her.

She's learning all about things like the salary cap.

For those of you asking for trade for trade grades: Hornets get a C, Wizards get an F. Both teams would have been better off using amnesty

Damn, we can amnesty 2 players instead of 1?! Stern loves us!

Fantastic job by demps/loomis.

This puts all options now on the table. Players like Rudy Gay are no longer cost prohibitive.

And Lewis is still a strong trade chip until July 1 for teams that need to cut costs

Would anybody like to see us go after Brandon Bass? What is his status with Boston? I'd think we'd actually be more of an attractive destination for him than the Celtics now if he's truly unprotected?
