Well…Zion has to drop his first 50 point game sometime. Why not now?

BI has a sprained big toe

To my knowledge it’s never been framed as a sprain. Every report I have seen referred to it as a bruise.

He practiced today and Nance said he didn't think he was limited at all. So I'm optimistic he'll play.

You know Jose wants some of Paul. If he can, and it’s up to him, he will be playing.

Andrew Lopez reported that Willie Green said it was a "contusion/sprain"

Possibly but this is definitely not one of them. Toe injuries aren't really minor.

Desmond Bane is going through it now. He's already been out over 1 month with a big toe sprain, and I think just today they said he was 3-4 weeks out. That'll put him around 2 months.

Don't get me wrong, I know every injury of the same name doesn't mean it's the same exact injury/timeline but just like Bane, BI has a sprained big toe. Tomorrow will only mark 2 weeks for BI. So he could realistically be out for 1+ months from today and it NOT be because of Nelson being cautious and rather, that's just the nature of toe injuries.

But the explanation was that there was no structural damage and that it was a bruise and at the time he was day to day. Everything I have seen on the injury reports have referred to it as a "contusion" not a sprain.

Really wish we could get Herb back for the Sunday game. No need to rush BI back but it would be nice to have Herb to guard Booker.

Willie called it both, a contusion/sprain, and last night I just did a quick Google search and the 1st 3 searches I pulled up called it a sprain.

If they wouldn't jump so high they wouldn't need a big toe !!

Jake repeated on his show today that the team hopes BI can play Sunday.

That was Andrew Lopez referring to it as a sprain. Not sure if he is assuming, but he was the one to report that. The nightly injury reports have been referring to it as a contusion. I do not think it is anywhere near what Bane is going through (as his was deemed to be a multiple week injury when it occurred). Hopefully BI gets back soon.

The tweet says, "Willie Green says Brandon Ingram (left big toe) will be day to day. Says it's a contusion/sprain."

Pels official Twitter also called it a sprain but that was the night of.

But the official NBA Injury Report does call it a contusion.

It doesn't matter whether it's a contusion or sprain. What matters is it seems like Nelson has a don't play hurt policy and Ingram seems to take longer than most would expect to clear that pain threshold hurdle. I'm not calling BI soft, just that BI + Nelson = extended absence when there's an injury.

On the flip side, De'Aaron Fox is playing with pain in his foot which they are calling a bruise. He's been playing with it for more than a month now and it's not healing because he's not resting it. He said it still bothering him a lot. He has to play for them to stay afloat in the west. We are very fortunate we can allow our guys to rest and heal when they need it and still win games.

This is a big reason having a deep team is very important. Not only does it give us a cushion to keep winning games but it also gives good minutes/ confidence to our young guys.

Yeah, that's what I said in the other thread. I'm glad Jose got his 38-point game. I'm glad that Dyson has gotten to start. I'm glad that Naji got to be player of the game on Wednesday.

Those are good things, but likely don't happen if BI and Herb had been playing.
