Yeah, the prices for the bargain tickets were ridiculously low by NBA standards, it seems to me.

Paper tickets? They are trying to migrate everyone to seat geek. Not sure why anyone cares about paper tickets.

This makes it A LOT easier for groups that split tickets.

Also, gives them somewhat of a backup when their scanners go down.

Why? You can transfer tickets on SeatGeek in a matter of seconds.

shite, has that ever happened? Pels or non Pels related...wondering what's the protocol there.

I hadn't ever thought of that.

The beer garden? Most STH’s don’t use the beer garden and wanted more money on concessions/team store.

I try and go to the beer garden every chance I can, my biggest hurdle is getting there before they shut it down.

It starts typically at 5:30 for 7PM games and that's right in the middle of rush hour traffic. I get off of work at 5 like most so it's a bit of a hassle.

My fiancee and I love to drop in, drink a beer, have some snacks, then grab the other beer and head on inside. Saves me $40 in beer every game. (I'd typically have 1 before tip and grab another at halftime, but with beer garden I just drink the 2 and call it a day.)

Typically when I get in there it's packed, so I don't think that's true.

Protocol is make the fans wait outside until the system comes up at the end of the 1st.

It happened at the last home game. I got lucky to get in before tip off. Lady turned away several people in front of us but we made the lady keep scanning our tickets until it went through. Others weren’t so lucky.

Also, paper vs mobile didn’t matter when the scanners were down.

I think the biggest issue is going to be the price of half-season tickets. I was looking and my seat now is going to be $500 for the full season (only about a $50 increase) but the half season is $425. That's $75 more for 20 more games. I did the math and a full season just doesn't make sense for me to buy (I've gone to 13/28 games so far), but I have no incentive to buy the half-season for that price.

I'm sure it's a bit of a hassle but it seems like buying the full season then selling the dates you won't use would be beneficial.

Two hundred people can pack the beer garden. There are thousands of STH’s. They took away the beer garden and added to the cards based on the STH survey.

I understand that for the people who used the beer garden (especially those with the cheap tickets that are getting the big increase), it was a great deal and saved them from purchasing in stadium.

But, lots of STH‘s don’t get there early enough and/or don’t drink at weeknight games.

The on court product As of right now isn’t worth the small ticket bump?

Holy don’t understand the NBA, Batman.

quote:

You are going to sit here and tell me people need to be attracted to the product right now for future growth

Throwing a “you going to sit here and tell me” is the worst kind of counter argument. It’s just filler.

quote:

We’ve been duped into coming out to “see a player” (AD) year after year. You need to win, and currently you sit 11th in the western conference.

Zion’s game doesn’t equate to Davis game. Zion’s game is much more appealing.

Pels are playing good, exciting basketball where a franchise can justify the cheapest ticket being $14.

quote:

Grow your product, then justify a price increase. Bet on yourself,

They have bet on the mass appeal of Zion. Its a solid bet.

quote:

Too much money is at steak for what is a poor city that has been screwed over and over by this franchise

My god that’s a dramatic overstatement, this poor city hasn’t been screwed over and over by the Pels. When people dont attend, the Pels are the ones who suffer, not the city.

Have you ever tried transferring a ticket to your 78yr old father on a phone app?

Last week and unfortunately they could not figure out that they should just tear the stubs off the bottom of the paper ticket and let people in. Instead, they kept trying to use the non-working scanners and held people outside.

My rep kind of expounded on this when I brought it up by saying that the $3-4 tickets on the secondary market were such a bad look for the team. He didn’t mention this, but being a STH also gives you access first to the bigger games of the season like the Lakers, which is pretty much an automatic profit at whatever retail price is. I’d assume the scalpers were taking advantage of that as well to turn a profit on the year with only a $350 investment.
