There is no situation where it benefits Demps to not give him the max. He is getting the 5 year max. No way Cousins wants a shorter deal.
Additionally Davis and Holiday playing the way they have been this season should make him feel even more comfortable. His role players in Rondo, Moore, and Mirotic should make him feel great too.

Would feel a lot better had it been literally any other injury other than a ruptured achilles, but we've pretty much locked ourselves into AD, Jrue, Cousins, and role players. That can be enough if we hit on enough role players or we hit on a Jokic, Draymond, Manu diamond in the rough type for a 4th big time player
