will become a RFA

LINK

saw it over on the MSB so i pulled it over here

the rockets plan to pursue big named players so the question here is what would it take to sign him

shoots 37% from 3 last year and avaeraged 16.6 pts I have no watched enough Rockets games to know about his defense

Id like to sign him but im not sure if this is just so Parsons wont become an UFA next year or if they are really considering letting him walk

shite yeah id want him but they have every intention of matching that's why they declined to keep him restricted. Can't stop us from throwing a ridiculous deal at him and holding down a division opponent in the future.

I would put him at the top of the list. He has a nice all around game on both sides if the ball.

Can't afford him, unless it's in some sort of sign and trade I'd assume

i mean im sure the plan is to let him sign somewhere but not make a move on him until they find out if they can land a big named FA then either decline or match

id assume we only have enough cap space to make one decent sized move or 2 smaller moves anyway so it wouldnt be a big deal to wait for the Rockets to make a decision

I don't know enough about contract issues to know what the Rockets' thinking is. There is an interesting thread on Clutchfans where they are trying to figure it out:

Parsons won't happen, but it looks like they're going to try to dump Asik/Lin. We don't have the space to take him outright for picks (unless we decline a ton of options or manage to dump EG) but something like Ajinca for him works. Hardwood Paroxysm is implying that Houston may be willing to send out a pick for a team to take on Asik, but I doubt that will be the case.

ETA: Nevermind, misread our cap situation. Looks like we'd have to free up/send out more than Ajinca, which starts to eliminate the benefit for Houston.

Hopefully someone does a poison pill contract on Houston like they did with Asik and Lin.

If we could somehow get rid of EG's contract, sign and trade for Parsons, Asik, and take Lin's poison pill to give them Ryno, would you?

Some team should offer him a poison pill. You'd probably want to structure it front-loaded to squeeze Houston.

If any team deserves it, it's Houston. Also, by front-loading, you wouldn't end up in the position that Houston is in now with Asik and Lin having little to no trade value.

Some guy in there said that Parson is a good deal at $12M per year. Has to be a Rocketard.

He's underpaid but he's not worth that kind of money.

Definitely not. That thread is fantastic:

Part of me wants to trade Gordon now just to create cap space to throw a ridiculous offer at Parsons that the Rockets would match. I want to save the cap space for 2015 anyway. Blowing up Houston's cap and giving Richard Jefferson and Okafor 1 year deals might be the perfect offseason.

I want him bad. He can do everything above average and had those nights where he gets 35, 10 and a couple steals and blocks. Heard something about potential sign and trade with Asik included but I would way rather get parsons

It's a Rockets messageboard, Einstein.

And there are a lot of retards on there... just like here and every fan site.
