What I find interesting is the comments about basketball not being a thought since Pistol Pete. Goes to show how AD’s personality wasn’t very endearing

Pretty cool. I know New Orleans and all of Louisiana is gonna rally around Zion in a way we never could for AD. Drew Brees is in the twilight of his career. I think Zion is gonna take his place as the face of New Orleans professional sports. Thankfully with Griffin and Langdon running things, I feel confident that we will win enough that he will hopefully play his entire career here. Exciting times sons.

AD was always a bit standoffish and just has no personality whatsoever. I thought that people would get excited but they never embraced him or the team.

I really hope Zion is different. Great video.

Why was the beginning of that video shot in Kaplan of all places?

That was pretty sweet. There is no reason the Pelicans cannot be embraced by the city like the saints. If Zion has more of a personality than the wet blanket that was AD, then the city will rally around this franchise.

That was stupid. What was the message here? We eat crawfish, we got wet, we listen to music, and we're happy to get Zion. No shite.

Little unknown fact... That's where all the hardcore Louisiana basketball fans are.

I thought it was an ad at first and was looking for the "skip ad" button.

I agree it was a little on the generic side for a NOLA piece, only missing the shot of Cafe Du Monde....but terrible??

C'mon man...NOLA basketball is finally getting national media love and we got folks waiting in the wings to piss all over it....

a lot of these same things were said when AD was drafted. it remains to be seen if the majority of the city, outside of our niche fanbase, will embrace the new team or not

It is what it is... It's a little clip they'll play on TV when we draft Zion to fill air space. I just think they should have made it more about basketball and less about crawfish and all that other generic New Orleans crap.

Little clips like that could go a long way toward changing the perception of New Orleans as a basketball city for fans and also players.

I have no problem with a little generic fluff about the city.

That has a lot to do with whether or not the new team embraces us. Josh Hart became a fan favorite yesterday by simply wearing a pels t shirt out. It’s not hard, you’ve just got to try. And winning helps too.

South Louisiana will support a winner.
If we had an MLB team that won a World Series people would sit out in the heat to support them.

Problem with the AD pelican era was that everything seemed so volatile. In his worst seasons here, AD missed a ton of games. After our best season, sweeping our first round opponent, the national media clamored that we never could put anything around him.

Zion will walk into a fringe playoff team, with him likely the difference in making it in or not.

LOL... that won't do shite. Winning turns New Orleans into a basketball city. Not clips of crawfish farmers in Kaplan.

Some of y'all are complaining about a happy fluff piece? Because it's too much about crawfish?

This is like posting a pic of a beautiful woman on the OT.
