Those picks could still be worth something if the Bucks implode due to the new CBA.
you mean pick.
all we really have left is the 2027 first unprotected and the 26 pick swap. the 24 pick swap we have will be worthless, and the 25 pick has been traded away.
i agree though the 27 1st is a valuable pick to have, b/c if Giannis leaves, i don't think they are recovering from it. They have nothing after him, and no young talent.
It would take an absolute awesome offer to trade that pick right now, same with the 25 Lakers 1st.

Guys on Supermax deals as of this past November-
Steph Curry
Dame
Giannis
Gobert
Embiid
Luka
Westbrook (since bought out)
John Wall (since bought out)
Harden is listed but he actually isn’t on a full one IIRC because he took a pay cut to get the Sixers some help.
Most of these guys are MVP winners or MVP level players like Luka.
The names that really stick out in that list are Gobert, Westbrook, and Wall.
Gobert was questionable simply because a defense first center isn’t worth that amount.
Westbrook was worth it at one point but his game aged badly, hence getting flipped to Houston, Washington, the Lake Show, etc.
Wall was just a case of the DC front office being stupid. See “NTC, Bradley Beal”.
Dame’s deal was a little rich given his production but small markets tend to overpay to keep stars.
The problem is he wants his cake and to eat it too.

IIRC, Jrue came to us quietly about going and didn’t raise the pressure in public, which in turn let us keep leverage while moving him.
Yup.
Same thing KD did also and he got to the team he wanted. Granted in the KD situation Phoenix did have everything needed to pull off a trade like that, but he still got where he wanted to go by keeping everything quiet and behind the scenes.

the whole point of the supermax was so that the small market team could keep the superstar by being able to offer him more than anyone else could.
If you let them force their way out to the team of their liking a year after signing it, then what was the point? There should simply be a longer time period where they cannot be traded. Supermax should be not until after 4 years, the 4 year regular max should be not until after 3 years. maybe make a stipulation where the only way you can trade them before those dates is if its for another max player, like the Wall/Westbrook trade.

Could also do a reverse trade kicker.
If the player requests a trade then he gives up 15% of the contract, and that amount goes to the team that’s trading him.

Pretty sure Jokic, Booker, and Towns are on supermax contracts now, too. Beal is also on a 35% max contract.
They should really make it to where you can only be traded in the last year of any "max" contract.

i figured this. I'd bet DeRozan is on the blocks as well. With Lonzo's injury, and the lack of success that team has had, i'm sure they are looking to just go a completely different direction.
I could see Sixers sending Chicago a couple of firsts and Harris for Lavine or Derozan.

With that, you have the issue where the player won't come out and request a trade, they will just act like shite head Harden did in Houston.

It's almost like these people have never heard of a contract. Why even have contracts longer than a year now if the players should be able to choose where they play in any given year? He didn't sign an extension to play in the NBA, he signed an extension to play for the Blazers.

That’s when you fine and suspend them for conduct detrimental to the team/league.

There should be zero tolerance for this. I don't know how, but NBA needs to step in.

I don't believe players get paid for training camp. The rules would let teams fine him for missing games though. Those are the rules the league has to work with to "step in". But I can't imagine Dame actually staying home rather than playing with Embiid, or Zion and BI. Now if he gets traded somewhere with too much youth like OKC, I could see him backing up his threat.

These are empty threats to steer these trade talks. I doubt it actually happens if he gets traded somewhere besides Miami. A lot of PTSD from AD on here.
