If he's willing to throttle down, it could work.
Miami needs another facilitator

Not so fast on the Westbrook move!
quote:
“Based on the executives I’m talking to, they believe that the Lakers have come to the conclusion that they’re not going to trade Westbrook now, because they don’t like any of their offers and they’re going to try and make the best of it and see what happens.”

as prior poster said, to be held accountable and receptive of guidance.
imagine being the person holding him accountable.
you look at game film and id the bad stuff. that won't teach good behavior.
what exactly do you hope?
no bad shots? note that Westbrook shot catch and shoot corner 3s at 40%.
can you ask him not to shoot otherwise?
I'm interested but clueless about the approach.
what is throttled down?
I should add that the coach seems to believe Westbrook will/could play serious defense. if so that would help for sure.

I just read some stories this morning that the Heat are considering Westbrook. Riley has a history of reclaiming players. They could send out Lowry and Robinson (get off two semi bad deals)..
That would instantly make the Lakers better this season, but would basically lock in their core for the remainder of Lebron's tenure. I'm also thinking the Heat would want some sweetener to send 2 serviceable starters out for a reclamation project.

Seems pretty certain at this point that SOMEONE is gonna bail the Lakers out

There are degrees of “bailing them out”.
If Miami wants to do a straight contract dump, they could send Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry to LA for two firsts.
Both are more usable for them than Westbrook but that’s a high cost (money and picks) for what you get, especially with Lowry declining and still having 3 years on his deal.

Amazing that the 22-23 Lakers thread is 45 pages and the season hasn’t even started yet. F the Lakers, F LeBitchass, F Toni.

Lowry and Robinson will destroy the Lakers more than Westbrook.
Both are terrible and shells of themselves. Robinson is young but as soft as Ruffles. Lowry is fat and old.

Pat Riley isn’t trading with the Lakers unless he rapes them.

Two unprotected firsts for guys who are breaking down / unplayable and under contract for several more years isn’t trade raping them?
Posted on 9/16/22 at 6:38 am to teke184
I’m gonna need more raping before I bring this to the board of directors. frick the lakers inc. demands excellence.

certainly not getting 2 #1s for that plus taking on Westbrook.
if Lowry would go to fat farm immediately then Mkeh.
Robinson can shoot.

The obsession is real

Lowry is in a tough spot with his NBA career right now...
Vincent helps MIA alot more than him, and Struss has stolen the Duncan Robinson role...

It's hard to turn away from a train wreck. And the Pels are hoping for another lottery pick from the Lakers in a pick swap next draft.

What happens if its not a lottery? Do pels still keep it or the pels only get it if its in the lottery?
Not that I think it matters as the NBA draft is very wishy/washy nowadays if you dont have lottery picks it is meh...
