this thread for what it is.
This thread is schadenfreude. We will delight in all the failing of the Lakers and their massive douche of a leader. Deal with it.

During a meeting last week with LeBron James, Darvin Ham revealed how he plans on having the Los Angeles Lakers' offense run through Anthony Davis. James concurred with the idea. The Lakers have been encouraged by the work Davis has put in this offseason and they believe he will be able to avoid serious injuries and carry a heavier load. The Lakers are also hopeful Russell Westbrook will improve his three-point shooting from the corners.

I saw a stat that Westbrook shot 43% on corner 3s last year. He didn't take a lot (1/5 of his 3s)..

No, this is exactly what needs to happen, like many in here know it likely won't happen because AD just falls and he is hurt 3-4 weeks..
LeBron has always deferred to try to allow the other supposed "alphas" on the team "get going" first... then he can insert his scoring when needed etc. It's his game and its the reason why many are upset at him for not just PLOWING through games forcing 30 FGA per game...
Windhorst put a quote out there yesterday (i think it was), that I'm surprised didn't make this thread...
"the lakers have to be perfect to make the playoffs this year with the current construction of the team"... "If not they will not make the playoffs"...
Obv thats a grasp for air type of quote since the Sports world is ded right now...but something we all know.

Saw some tweets that the Lakers will be sending what BRKYN has asked for likely... instead of holding back.
So that should be interesting if the Kyrie stuff pops up again...
Regardless, August is such a :Snooze: month..

SO sounds like the Lakers will have AD post up like a bitch and give him the ball, but since he's a bitch, he'll get the ball 15 feet away from the basket b/c he'll let a smaller defender push him out and he'll give zero resistance and just accept it. Then he'll face the opponent up, realize he can't blow by him, and being the bitch he is, won't force his way into the lane, and hence, will take 15 elbow/wing jumpers from 12-15ft out a game, and get a few ally oops and easy buckets off of his teammates driving to the goal and dishing to him right under the goal.

So Giannis with a jumper?

From what I gathered from Ham is that he wants AD to elevate to the Giannis level similar to a bud style offense.... now where doe the other players on the team fall into place we shall see...
To be able to have 2 "dominant" player to share this type of role could help, but definitely will be interesting to see if Ham is able to implement any style that could work.
In previous runs for Coaches that have coached LeBron it seems like he's open to it, then if it doesn't work or the team becomes depleted its back to more of a 5 OUT and surround LeBron with shooters, which is what LA has been lacking

Imagine, if you will, a world where an NBA team designs an offense that involves Westbrook taking smart, efficient catch-and-shoot 3s from the corner on all day.

Seriously tho, why do y’all keep responding to this dude? Ignore him and he will go away
I click this thread to read about the latest on a team that I don’t normally follow and all I see is 1 clown who’s clearly a lakers/lebron fan and a bunch of dummies going back and forth with him

Same...
But yes, things get taken out of context by others because I have an open mind.

the Los Angeles Lakers are now reportedly willing to include both 2027 and 2029 first-round draft picks in a deal for Kyrie Irving. Earlier in the offseason, the Nets were unwilling to take back Russell Westbrook in any Irving deal.

I know Kyrie has skills and fits better than Russ, but this just seems like taking a dumpster fire and throwing plutonium at it. The Lakers will be the new Knicks when LeBron is done with them.

The Nets are going to be a fascinating after trading Durant and Irving.
No need to buy out Westbrook. They can keep him to the deadline and get more picks for teams looking to dump salary.
I do wonder how Simmons plays and how he fits with Brown. That is a potentially dominant wing combo at least defensively..
