The Lakers are trading Thomas Bryant to the Nuggets for Davon Reed and three second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
This is nuts. The Lakers obviously think that Vanderbilt is as good or better than Bryant. I strongly disagree.

I thought Bryant had been good for the Lakers, particularly when AD was out. This move surprises me.

Bryant apparently asked for a trade

Not surprised as he's been regulated to the bench since they traded for Hachimura.

Well ... and he's had to deal with all the stupid "Maybe it's me" drama all season long.
I was wondering if he might've asked for a trade. It's really the only way it made any sense.

All the discussion before the season about how Pat Bev and Russ wouldn't get along, and how one of them wouldn't make it to the end of the season? LOL.

Did I read the trade right? Lakers only give up ‘27 and it’s top 4 protected and if it doesn’t convey turns to a 2nd? Wtf is Ainge doing?

At least they didn’t get Bojan. That would have been the back breaker

How the heck do they have the assets to do that?

Over the last two days, they sent out Pat Beverly, Westbrook, Thomas Bryant, etc, plus a protected 27 first and a bunch of seconds.
IIRC, Orlando got Pat Bev, who will be bought out, and some seconds. Orlando just wanted some assets for Bomba since they kind of ended up re-signing him because “why not.”

Summary: the Lakers traded a below-average player in Russell Westbrook for an average player in Deangelo Russell. They then traded some mediocre players for some other mediocre players.
They will suck slightly less, but they aren't going to make the playoffs.

It didn't take much to get him because his only impact on the floor was on Austin Rivers.

Darvin Ham says LeBron James had medical imaging taken on his left foot and said “thankfully” it only showed “normal wear and tear”
Ridiculous. If what's going on with his foot is just normal wear and tear, why is his foot on the injury report every single night?
Posted on 2/9/23 at 7:53 pm to GOP_Tiger
It really feels like a matter of time before AD or Lebron get hurt again. Lebron is playing 36.5 minutes a game at age 38. He's only going to push himself more down the stretch

No LeGM tonight.
Still recovering from the after party last night. Plus, he had to work on his pre-game speech for tonight. Hopefully, you were all fortunate enough to have missed it. The dumb arse actually said his wife is the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

Bucks know they can just turn it on & win in the 2nd half...or might even wait until the 4th quarter
