They won’t add a game changer and if they do, it still may not be enough. Move on, start the rebuild, and take your lumps.

They'd be stupid to not oblige him

I'm in awe of how deep a hole the Lakers dug to end up with one championship but quite possibly several bad years. their fan base has never experienced what's coming.
they are dependent upon Davis.
edit. they do get pels first.

Using Westbrook's salary is why they still might make a huge deal at the deadline. In any case, they might very well use both picks this off-season to make a deal to go all-in on next season.
Edit: after the season, they will have three picks they can use.

Yeah I think they will wait until the off-season and try to put all 3 picks on the table along with their cap space to go after Lavine or Beal.
They could take one of them into cap space if Wiz or Bulls agree to a S&T of around 10 million per year for someone

23 (swapped), 26, 28?
That swapped pick isn’t going to be worth a whole lot at this rate given where we are in the standings.
You occasionally get a Desmond Bane late in the first but those are usually draft and stash guys.

I don't understand the doomsayers. A savvy GM can build, even with minimum picks. We all watched the Nets do it. The Lakers will spend. That'll help a lot. You can always find bargain basement guys and players to take cuts to go there. They are done as a championship contender. But with no lottery picks, they have no incentive to ever bottom out. So they should never be a top lottery team. We keep projecting picks that'll probably end up 9-12..

Lakers’ starters vs. Miami tonight:
Dennis Schroder
Patrick Beverley
Austin Reaves
Juan Toscano-Anderson
Thomas Bryant
Fanduel has the Heat favored by 8.5.

I assume Jimmy Butler will start trying again...here in a bit...and the Heat will pull away.
