Why? They're not mutually exclusive?

Him doing it has a greater effect than sending him a message about it.

I don’t ever agree with you but in this case I do a little bit. Maybe not suspend him but I’d bench his arse for sure! The lakers are gonna have to give up the 2 1sts for him and Hield so frick both turner and the lakers. Indy doesn’t need to play turner and I’d make his arse watch from the sidelines

Myles Turner says the Lakers should consider trading the 2 1st round picks to the Pacers for him and Buddy Hield “If I’m the Lakers, I take a very hard look at this with the position that you're in. I know what I can provide for a team.” (Via The Woj Pod)
Wtf, that is messed up. Pacers fans need to boo that dude off the floor every time he touches the basketball.

I think it's only fair to point out that Indy has been trying to trade him for the past 4 years. So this isn't exactly a normal trade demand that is some big betrayal. It's what the team wants and if the Lakers would give up those picks it would have happened already.

"I get it going on behind the scenes. But publicly requesting a trade during the season to a specific team talking about other players and assets. They need to get him in line. This can't be ok.."
Toni made it ok. Association had no problem with it

Turner’s doing this in part because the Pacers have been shopping him for years and the Lakers are dragging their feet on making a deal because they think their leverage will improve.
Don’t agree with him doing this but I understand it.

I get why he's doing it. But he is playing big minutes for them and they aren't bad. He can't be able to do this publicly.
It went and looked at the Twitter post. A bunch of people have jumped on and are accusing Woj of setting Turner up, publishing that. It's at least tampering. He's not supposed to do that to a player. He's going to get fined at a minimum..

I never understood the love for Myles Turner. He's a 34% 3-pt shooter, solid for a big, but don't exactly want him shooting a bunch of 3s. He's basically a 12 point, 7 rebound guy who can't stay healthy.
Lakers celebrate getting a win!
On a side note, how the mighty have fallen. Lakers celebrate getting their first win, act like they just won a title.

This actually helps us in the long run. Maybe Lakers won’t give up their future picks now and keep Westbrook. Seems like people forgot all the previous games he played for them. He went against Murray
Exactly. Although we may not understand his methods, our tank commander has earned the benefit of the doubt in how he operates.
Lakers are playing hard and Westbrook is going to come hard off the bench and feast on a weak November slate. This success will prove fools gold and only serve to preserve the status quo of this flawed roster.

I think it's also a contract thing too. He's a free agent after this year if I'm not mistaken. The Laker's trading for him and giving up those assets means they will be bent over a barrel when it's time to resign him since they would have traded 2 future firsts for him in part. They have to keep him. Especially since there will be a few teams with a lot of free money the compete for him.

He didn't request a trade. He spoke on the rumors of the situation. He's just smart enough to speak on the situation unlike most of the players in the league. He gave his opinion on the viewpoints of the situation if he was in a leadership position. He mentioned being in the last year of a deal and acquiring assets for an expiring contract. He also spoke on the hesitancy of the Lakers in their perspective because of the value of picks.

That's a lot of semantics to justify a guy clearly indicating a desire to be traded to the Lakers.

It's been a lot of LeBron ball the past two games. Especially in the 2nd half last night. How long can that last this early in the season?

He didn't indicate anywhere in that clip a desire to be traded to the Lakers. He spoke on the rumors.

When has that ever stopped the Lakers from doing something stupid?

Didn't say it would stop them. Just said I think it's part of Pelinka's hesitation. I feel like Pelinka is trying to get Turner and Hield for Westbrook and 1 1st. That allows him to use the other first and a swap to get another player for a playoff run. The pacers want both firsts. Turner (and his agent) wants to go somewhere that gave up assets for him so they would be more inclined to resign him at the figure he wants as well as up his value in FA. For all we know Turner and his agent got the go ahead from the Pacers brass to speak on it to try and get things moving.

He effectively called in a dedication to the Pacers of “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” by The Clash.

And you’re obsessed with our messages on the team? Ofc we want the lakers to fail to get us a lottery pick. The lakers trade literally makes up more than 60% of our roster and will contribute to make up more of it.
